I have a representative so I can only check it on ecas.
Medical passed on 1 june. But you have given me a new hope. So may be background check have already started.
Oh yes, ecas never shows BGC information, so it would have already started! Don't worry and stay positive ! :)

Just called cic helpline number. The agent said the eligibility and background check haven’t started yet. Your file is in the early stages.
This broke my heart.

Don't worry, the agents hardly give accurate answers :). Also if you have a representative, they might give details to the representative only.

Hello feb 12 here. No update yet after passing the medicals on june 5. My consultant also sent an amendment to remove restrictions in my work permit which is to work in healthcare, after i pass the medical exam. But the officer denied it . Any ideas on there? This is so frustrating.. should we reapply? Thanks

It's because you need a police check done prior to you working in the healthcare or child services field. Did you submit your PCC with your PR app or are you waiting on it? That may be why.

FEB 1 applicants any updates?
Feb 1st here. I just got a notice today that I passed the eligibility requirements. Hadn’t heard anything since April before that.

I wasn’t asked for my biometrics and the letter I received today says they’re refunding me $85 but it doesn’t say why. I’m guessing it’s the biometrics?? But it seems weird that some people are asked for them and some are not?
I’ve been living in Canada since 2017 and have a work permit so maybe it’s because of that?

Anyway, my timeline so far is:

Application sent: Jan 31
Received: Feb 1
AOR: March 27
Open work permit approved: March 29
Work permit received: April 3
Medical request: April 15
Medical done: April 18
Medical passed: May 2
Eligibility passed: July 12

Good luck everyone!
