For all those whose parents background status is "under check", what does CIC do, do they contact local authorities etc ? Not sure what the background check process is. I can understand that they can check the background for parents stay in Canada but not sure what they can check in the home country. Normally they request a PCC at some point, isn't it ?

Not Super visa, but he almost lives here on visit visa with extensions and 2-3 months of stay back home since last 3 years continually.

Even my mom is with me for last 6 years on visitor visa returning to home every year for 1 to 2 months. It shows "Not Applicable" in back ground check.

My application was received on Apr 30th, still can't check on ECAS or link. What can I do? How much more patient do I need? So worried......

Do you have temporary file number? People submitted at your time should have received biometric request, can you try link it with file number by removing the X?

I am assuming you have already tried myCIC link using your parents UCI, last name and passport details. There are few here for whom ecas was not available but they were able to link application into myCIC

No worries , you will see your application will direct go to "in process" as soon as your CO will wake up as individual staff also has target to complete the applications in certain time frame like other offices

Decision made in ECAS but did not yet get any notification by email, and no request for additional document before as well

Does the applicant's part also in process? And it seems they have requested some docs before starting to process your application.

My mom is on supervisa in Canada for the last 2 years, but the background check is in process. But I assumed that background check is must.

the one in NY is heavily bogged down by express entry and spouse sponsorship, it may take 3-4 weeks to even get an appointment but we only have 30 days!

Can you actualy link it without the ecas?
