I feel like just getting to your file is the long wait. Once they strat processing it moves faster.

It's at least better than 6-7 years of long wait before.
I Agree, Far better. I haven't even thought that it will happen so quickly when I landed in Canada in 2015. I kept saying my parents that even after I apply it will take 4-5 years to get you PR.

Omg same. I can relate. When i came in 2014 i told them 8 years from now which is a long time. And now hopefully in 8 months from now they'll be here.
it's crazy
I hope we all get through it within a year.

Hello,

I just realized in the Additional family information form (IMM5406), We did NOT write the names in our native language. I have already submitted the forms, and they were received (no Ecas yet) on the 5 of June.

My question is, will this be a problem in the application? if yes is there any way to pro-actively rectify it ? Thanks
Regards

Absolutely, I am so glad the processing times have come down this much. Bodes well for all of us.

My application for sponsoring my parents was delivered on June 21st by Canada Post. What should I expect next? Do I get an email from CIC?
You probably just have to wait for about maybe 6-12 weeks then get some kind of email saying they have received it. (called an AOR). Most of us have not received any email even though we sent it in in mid May.

Thats why I say the process is not FIFO else how is it possible that May 9 or even some from May 10 now have ecas and able to link application whereas May 8 is still File number not opened.[/QUOTE

FIFO was for EOI RO determine who will be the 20000 processed. No other promise of FIFO for anything else.

I agree with you: sorting of applications is definitely not FIFO, how would you explain people from May 10 (on the tracker) with AOR or In Process stage and some people before April 30th with nothing or stuck in application received. I don't want to complain but it makes totally worthless the fact of being prepared to send as soon as possible if the whole processing is random
Was never any promise that getting you application in faster would get it processed faster. If you were the 26999 application for EOI but submitted your application first you aren’t guaranteed to be processed in PGP 2019.
