Have you considered IELTS?
At first I have less confidence in the IELTS test since its PBT vs the CELPIP CBT format, however I did score better on the IELTS. Give it a try, you never know!
One tip that I can share is get really familiar with the test format, I believe knowing the format well is already half the battle. There will be no surprises at every turn as you already know what to expect! Good luck.
It won't affect it immediately.
As for how it impacts in the future, we don't have much to go on at this point.

The only complain I have for the IELTS test is the manual writing on paper, nowadays most of my writing is done on laptop/computer and smartphone. We're given the exact word count and also the ability to edit and insert words/sentences or even re-arrange paragraphs instead of having to cross out the manual work on paper and estimating the word count.
I like meeting the examiner face to face for the Speaking part, it just seems more natural vs the computerized recording on the CELPIP test.

I think modifying intake is not a person's decision, and is not a day's process. In my opinion, the immigration programmes will not end until Canada achieves a steady and sustainable natural increase rate.
2 in mine... trust me call them ... i called then they updated to docs received ,,, then on due date i had to call 3 times then finally they did it... you have to call them otherwise it will keep hanging
During my recent attempt.. the player stopped working during test run.. another player was brought in.. then 30 or so people complained their headphones are not working.. they spent around 20 minutes changing headsets..
During reading there was a power failure.. we were awarded extra 2 minutes.. similarly we got 6 extra minutes for writing
I had to call in every other day.. call center associates blatantly lie.. no use.. catch them on twitter or facebook.. everything's in writing..
