Dude, yes! This! I have been talking about this...actually more like beating a dead horse, hahaha! So glad to find more kindred spirits! I don't have to be alone in my corner anymore.

It makes no sense that I am good enough for travel to the US, the UK and the Schengen Area, but not Canada?! A long-term visa from any one of these three regions should be enough for an automatic security clearance from CBSA. I've even held a visitor visa to Canada in the past! Sorry to get on the soap box, but I've never had a visa refusal. Strangely, I've noticed a few people with prior visa refusals to the US - and I mean absolutely no offense, each case is different - go through to PPR with a later AOR date. What the actual frack?! (My rage is directed at IRCC, obviously.)

You're not alone!! A couple of months ago, I read a case from September about a guy having a criminal history in Dubai and still got his PPR within 6 months. Due to his criminal history he was even refused a visa to US. Many consultants believed his application will be refused. So it's wonderful and an amazing story that the guy managed to fight through everything and achieve his Canadian dream.

Now what I don't understand is how is his case in any way not complex? Yet, the ones with no criminal history, no visa refusals, travelling to multiple countries and going through passport checks without any issues are found to be complex cases and are made to wait even after 8 months. Can anyone make sense of this logic?

I don't want people to take my post in a negative way. Yes, every case is different but just pointing out about ridiculous this looks for IRCC and CBSA.

I really have to stop myself from giving this sort of feedback to the call center agents because they are just cogs in the wheel...and they're so nice and oblivious to how IRCC works. Yet, we have all played by their rules. We have waited the six months we were provided as an estimate, and we're expected to believe nobody at IRCC saw they'd have to ramp up their hiring after inviting a record number of candidates over 2017-18? Did they really get caught in the headlights? I can't buy that.

I've been robbed of my sleep these past couple of weeks. Maybe I'll get used to this anxiety soon. Human beings do have an amazing ability to adapt to anything.

It doesn't really explain why some get their PPRs faster. It's clearly not FIFO but we don't really know how the ordering happens.

Is this story true?
However, I believe most of the current cases are delayed due to their backlog.
Some files are just left untouched for several months.

Need your urgent help on the below query :
I had created my EE profile in August 2018. There is a question in your EE profile on employment history - In the last ten years, how many years of skilled work experience in Canada do you have?
I was lead to believed by my consultant that the 10 years are to be computed on a whole month basis and hence i included employment from September 2008 onwards only -which also matches with the start of new job under the relevant NOC. I was employed prior to September 2008 (ie prior to 10 years) in under different NOC and hence the same was not included in the profile.

Would the above be an issue ? Please all let me know your thoughts especially @legalfalcon; @derkdsou; @USProgrammer; @SithLord

I remember a while back seeing your analysis on this specific topic of extensive travel history cases. Didn't you observe that there was actually no correlation with respect to that. Maybe, its just that these are some of the cases lying in the stack of a lazy officer waiting to get picked? The reason why i say that is, the % of unprocessed files crossing 6 months is still at an unprecedented high since they have started EE. May be we got in to this at an unfortunate time, where IRCC didn't have a clue on how to staff their offices as per the invites they are sending (Or it can be that they have budget issues in hiring more workers). Earlier the timelines used to be between 3 to 6 months (where people applied around a similar period used to get PPRs across a spread of 2 months), now it became 5 to 8 months (This i guess has been already brought up here multiple times, but our minds somehow cant go beyond that stupid irrelevant progress bar on our profiles)

That's the most positive way i can think of the current situation!

Wow, @sai86, four PCCs just for you? When it comes to IRCC, being well traveled is no badge of honor. Defying barriers and visas to travel and live internationally makes you more suspect, not less, counterintuitive as it is. @Laumyl also had an ETH (extended travel history), and she doesn't have any news from IRCC either.

Yes, 4 PCCs and single applicant here! I'm kinda scared now. @Pura Vida has 5 PCCs! All of us with extensive travel history should assemble and see if it actually affects the processing time. While we're at it, I am also slightly worried that providing 11 LOEs (which were absolutely necessary, I kept them super short and precise, made an index for easy reading etc) might be another reason for the delay. Any on else with so many LOEs?

I was really hopeful I'd be able to make it by maximum 5 months. Now I have no clue. The more I look forward, the more anxious I get. On immitracker, 11 out of 19 people who applied from UAE have their PPR for Dec AOR (active cases). One even got it yesterday. Let's just hope for the best.
