I posted this in an individual thread, but I'll ask it here to people who have completed PPR:
Can I have the COPR sent to my husband's (the sponsor) address in Canada? On Annex A, I can write in a mailing address to send it to but I didn't know if it has to match my US mailing address. I'm flying out on the 22nd and I doubt I'll have the COPR back in time by then so I figured it would be easier to have it sent over there if possible.
So my options are:
1) have the COPR sent to my current mailing address in USA (my parents live here) and have my parents mail out the COPR to Canada after it arrives, or
2) if it's possible to mail out the PPR from the USA and have it mailed back to the sponsor's Canadian address afterward.
Or a third option:
Wait until I'm in Canada in 2 weeks to submit all of the PPR paperwork and go from there.
Should I file a change of mailing address on ECAS if I have it sent to a Canadian address?
This is all so confusing.
I am going to base my answer on my process as permanent resident a few years back, I think you can send it to Canada but if you do then you would have to 'land' in an office in Canada or leave and enter again. Your COPR is used to do the actual landing process. What I mean is.. ideally, it would have been nice for you to have your COPR form when you went now because you would hand over that form at the airport to an official who asks you a couple of questions, signs it, stamps it, and welcomes you to Canada
