I have not sent in the application as I just received them last week. What choice do I have?
when were the forms signed? if may - i believe u should send it as is.
if u wanna do it by the book and u have time to send it back home, get it back and send it to CIC (remember they must receive it by June 28) in time for the deadline.. send the new forms. Personally, I find it overkill but its ur application :)

Totally Agree!

ANY permanent resident in USA can easily bring their parents to USA in 6 months. (no lottery or lineup or backlog)

Congress controls immigration programs so anti immigrant governments can't change programs. In Canada a conservative government halted this program for 2 years. one could reasonably argue that USA is more welcoming to immigrants despite having a nazi president.
But the most important thing is that it is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE for people like you and I (skilled worker) to get PR or green card in the US. Indians have to wait 80 years sometime even if there is an employer who sponsor. Canada has the most easy immigration program for ordinary skilled workers, so it is not wise to demand of adding further dependants

i agree.. my parents signed the forms May 15th and i just received them.. sent them as it is.. fingers crossed .. should get a good agent..

i sponsored my wife in February.. they changed the documents late february and forms were signed early.... they accepted it... and its now in processing...

honestly.. it all depends on the agent you get... but immediate previous versions are always acceptable from past experiences...

I can argue with you, but their is no point. Whatever suits you.
You’re right...there is no point. It’s ok to respectfully disagree though. I respect that. But FYI...there is a reason why there is such a thing called maternity leave and a lot of sensitivity around pregnant employees. I am not a homemaker but was home with my kid for a year after he was born... before going back to work. it’s definitely a job. But we digress. Keeping the focus on the purpose of this forum

Bro, my comment was in a response from the previous poster who is saying that this in humanitarian program. Which it is not. Family re-unification is the core for Canadian immigration system and I am showing what they have in the south of the border simply.
It is a compassionate program. There is almost no benefit to Canada and family reunification doesn’t include parents and siblings in Canada.

Not everyone can bring their parents to the US in 6 months though. Most have longer wait times. To get a green card it can take someone 15 years or more in some cases so you have to add the time until you can get a green card or citizenship into the calculation.

You are right, and to the person that says PR in US can sponsor parents, please get the fact straight, only CITIZENS of USA can sponsor parents, on average it takes 15 years to get green card, after that 5 years more for citizenship so it is 20 years wait if everything is going absolutely well for a skilled worker to be able to sponsor parents. Compared to Canada where Express Entry takes 6 months and citizenship take 3 years, PR can sponsor parents, then it is easy to see where is more lenient!

I agree with this approach. I am not sure why people are getting so worked up about this issue. CIC has said that old forms will be accepted in tweets, so...
My lawyer’s office updated all forms and now we are signing new ones again (we haven’t submitted the app yet). They said IRCC will return the app if we send with the old forms. So I am not taking a chance and just updating it all, especially keeping in mind the discrepancy of the # of applications and invitations IRCC was suppose to send out , somehow they have to keep with the 20,000 quota and outdated form is just one of the reasons to refuse the app...

good for you for sending the new ones but old forms are not reason to refuse an app. returning an app yes, but not refusing it altogether...

Maybe you are right, just I personally don’t want to risk and there is time left still to submit the app , so we are updating it. Also, even if only they return it, it is going to be a delay...
