choose one to be the principal applicant and the other is a dependent - it doesn't matter who goes first. only one form for both.

Im posting this again as no response yesterday.

Did you sign each page of the document checklist or just the last page?

Did you sign the Income Sources document?

I didn't sign mine for both.
Simply because there is no area anywhere in the document checklist where they asked for "signature of applicant or sponsor" and date.
Same with the income sources document.

Anyone not receiving eCas updated in a few weeks may have problems in their applications and pending returned. Asking IRCC on facebook or twiiter is the fastest way to get a response, don't risk losing your chance due to mistakes in application process.
