normally how long after submission of online application do the biometric requests get sent out to applicant?

If the fees is paid upfront, 24 hours. Else it takes "several days" as per CIC's website.

does the applicant have to take appointment letter and passport? neither? both? anything else that i have missed?

since 6th May, following status
Eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet requirements

but process for canada is much longer, I applied for us visa n just in few seconds. VO said I have approved your visa, have nice stay in US

Received an email on 5th April application under process at the IRCC. FRIDAY

Received an email on 9th May biometric validity information. Thursday
Received email on 12th May Passport Request Letter morning Sunday....
Submitted passport on Monday now now idea when will I receive passport waiting....
