Congratz!!!I’m Match 11. I didn’t receive an email with AOR yet but I just linked my application on my account.
Cool , if you could link the app that means your file is in the system, and you will be getting AOR in email soon. That’s a good news indeed that IRCC is moving forward fast and reviewing March 11th applications today. I am March 14 so hopefully by the end of this week or the beginning of next week. Good luck to allI’m Match 11. I didn’t receive an email with AOR yet but I just linked my application on my account.
Please have your visitor extension application ready and wait until the last day of your visit visa expiry. If you wouldn’t get AOR then you must submit visitor extension online a day before the expiry of your visa to prevent falling in over stay status.
I Myself is a victim of this, I didn’t filed visitor extension thinking that I will receive AOR soon but my application came back after 3 months due to a small error and now I had to file restoration of status first and then I resubmitted my PR and OWP application.
I would suggest you not to do the same mistake and you must file visitor extension if you won’t get AOR by the end of your visitor visa. You will be fine as long as you submit online application a day before expiry of your status and you will be considered on implied status from the day your visa will be expired.
It cost you only $100 and it will save you from bigger hassle and more fee for restoration of status on later stage!
Hope my answer helps ! Thanks and welcome to the club !
Hi,Thanks for your response! My OWP arrived just in time!
I am a little confused now, am I allowed to leave and re-enter Canada now? Sounds like a silly question, I know...
anyways, I always thought I couldn’t leave the country and re-enter, but they sent me an email (approval of my temp. Residency) which states “ to allow you to travel to or re-enter Canada by air only, we have issued you an eTA...”
any experiences with that?
My brother is getting married in Germany in July and I am hoping to be able to go?!?
Thanks, Sabrina
Did you give Bio metrics for OWPSo I had to link my OWP to my account, using a similar method to linking your PR application to your account. The category was "temporary resident" - "work permit and extension".
Add all your info
In details "Open work permit"
Country "Canada"
Which situation applies to the applicant "Applied for permanent residence as a spouse or common-law partner in Canada"
Once linked, the work permit application starts with a "W"
Hope the above helps and good luck. How has the rest of the application process gone for you?
No, they didn’t ask for any. I’m from a visa exempt country so I don’t know if that changes anything.Did you give Bio metrics for OWP
Hi. Regarding leaving and coming back in, you should be ok as long as you meet the requirements in this link (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=248&top=28). Passport, work permit and ETA would be required. I thought that there was something about not being guaranteed re-entry if you leave (it might of been in the full guide to the application). I’ve heard it is very unlikely that someone with a pending spousal sponsorship would not be allowed back into Canada if they left (correct me others if this is incorrect). I’ll be taking a trip abroad in the summer and will just make sure I’ve got all my required documents with me.Thanks for your response! My OWP arrived just in time!

Congratulations!! That you have received your AOR today.Posting in here to give my timeline.
App originally received: December 27, 2018
App returned: March 4, 2019
App resent: March 7, 2019
App received: March 14, 2019
Just received AOR this morning: April 25, 2019
Haven't tried to link yet.
Big weight off my shoulders, however hopefully someone can answer this. My original visitor status expired on Feb 28, but I applied for an extension by paper in January. I remember making the mistake on there that got my PR app sent back (missed hand-written signature), so I'm anticipating that being sent back too. In preparation of that I applied for restoration of status alongside my Open Work Permit. We got AOR before hearing anything back about my visitor extension. My question is, does getting AOR before the extension gets back protect me from anything, such as the visitor extension being sent back or denied? I still technically have implied status from that and my application is starting to process on that implied status, correct? Will it be as if I never had implied status in the first place when it's sent back, and the app would have been processed and denied for being out-of-status if I didn't apply for restoration?
I hope the question is understandable. Wording might be a little confusing.
Yes, Linka93 has received AOR on April 19 and he/she had application submission of March 8th, same as yours! You will find his/her post 2 pages back. Good luckHi all,
Anyone with March 8th application, received AOR??
Thank you. I'll be sure to keep updated. Hope you get yours soon.Congratulations!! That you have received your AOR today.
Answering to you questions, AOR does not give you any sort of protection but just an acknowledgement of receipt of your application to IRCC. But you are still under implied status due to your two other applications of “restoration of status” and then the “OWP application”. Both provide you the implied status and you are legal to stay in Canada as long as the decision is not made on them.
P.s. Your and mine situation is very similar. I also applied in December and my app came back in the first week of March; whereas, my visit expired just few days before they returned my application. So, I had to file restoration of status and then I resent my PR+OWP again in the second week of March and application was delivered on March 14, same day as yours!
I hope I will be receiving AOR soon.
But congratulations for your AOR once again and please keep us update in future as well.
