last sunday I uploaded the requested documents thru webform and today I got an acknowledgement of receipt. email said the uploaded documents have been forwarded to the case officer. no change in gckey or ecas of yet.
How did you upload a file in Web form? I am getting "File must be 2 MB or smaller. If include multiple files, the size must be 3.5MB or smaller" this error every time? my document is 3.1MB with 63 pages.

How did you manage to send web form? I submitted on GCkey on 31st and still on GCkey document upload status. and nothing on ecas.

Thanks

I didn't originally pay biometrics fee (i don't think) cause i didnt think PA needed to do it.... obviously I know now that he does. Is this going to slow us down? Should i just wait for the request then pay?
I think so. At least, I figure that's what happened to us. We hadn't paid for biometrics upfront because we thought my husband was exempt (error on our side). We finally received our biometrics request yesterday (a month after we received confirmation that they had received our payment.) Check out our timeline in my signature.

This is what our biometric FEE request email basically said:

Payment of Biometric Fees
1. You can pay immigration fees online with a Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card if you have access to a computer with an Internet connection, Adobe Acrobat Reader software, and a printer.
2. This fee must be paid at the following link: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/. 3. Click “Continue” at the bottom of the first page.
4. Select “Immigration” then under “Other immigration services”, select “Biometrics”. Note: “If you qualify for the “family” or “groups of performing artists” rates, only enter “1” into the ‘Quantity’.
5. Select the fee that applies to your application.
6. Click “Submit” and complete payment.
7. Once completed, send the payment receipt via the IRCC Webform at the following link: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx.

Note: You only need to pay biometric fees at this time. When your application is processed, you will receive further instructions on when and how to give your biometrics. For more information on biometrics, please visit the IRCC website at https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/campaigns/biometrics/facts.html The requested documents/information, must be submitted by __________ (formatted as “year/month/day”).

No other reminder will be sent to you. If you fail to provide the requested information, your application will be assessed on the basis of the information that we have which may Website: www.cic.gc.ca result in the refusal of your application for permanent residence. Should this occur, no further consideration will be given to your request for permanent residence unless a new application, including fees, is submitted.

Guys, asking on behalf of someone else. They found out that the PA has a family member in Canada (the family isn't that close) but they share the same last name. Should they notify the VO? They were transferred to the Vienna VO I believe. They don't know where the family member is exactly. They just know that they are in Canada. They are worried because on the application they put no family in Canada. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! x

Nope. You need to notify immediate blood relatives only, like siblings, parents.

Ah okay thank you! I will let her know. So even if it is a cousin or someone with the same surname it is okay? I think she is scared that they will think she lied when they do background checks. So it won't be like misrepresentation? One of the questions in the application asked for other relatives in Canada so that was specifically just siblings and parents? Thank you again! x

So many February Outland people have gotten their biometrics! What about January? I feel like we've been left behind :(
Right? I just want to know that they didn't forget us! :(

@jerry777 @vinitmenon you guys think if I call them, they'd be courteous enough to tell me if our file is in CPC-M or has since been transferred to NDVO?
I got an email saying File has been sent to CPC-M last time but I believe they dont always notify if the file has been sent to VO.. Am I wrong about this last part?

Do you want it to be Transferred to NDVO? Why do you want to put this idea into their minds? (I mean it’s already there)
Hold your horses:p
You were transferred on March 20. I think they are working on March 1-March 18. I didn’t get biometric with everybody, I got it just 2 days ago and that is a sign that they have started working on our batch otherwise I would have never known other than guessing. @Hensy got biometric request and then additional docs which I didn’t and she/he transferred on March 16. They have asked @vinitmenon for ADs which they haven’t even started working on. So they probably go back and work on them and then move forward.
And there are so many people who are not on the spreadsheet so it’s hard to guess correctly.
I like hashtag though. If you have prepared your file well, you will never need to call them.
There are holding onto files from oct, nov and dec, not everyone got a DM, just a handful of selective people. So feel lucky and grateful that they are already working on January applicants otherwise files just sit there months and months and didn’t get open for the longest time.
Long weekend is coming so set you mind for even less moment from them and be extra happy if you get biometric before it. :D
