Hi everyone, I’m not sure if this is the right place to post but I’m in desperate need of help/clarity. I am from New Zealand, last April I travelled to Canada to visit my family and had an approved eTA. I am planning on travelling back to Vancouver next week so I decided to check my eTA status, expecting it to be approved as I know it lasts for a few years, however I was met with this message, although the status was still approved
“Following an assessment of your file, it has been determined that you no longer meet the requirements for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). As a result, your eTA has been cancelled.
Your file is now closed. Should you wish to reapply for an eTA, we encourage you to do so only once you have addressed the reason(s) for the cancellation of your application. At that time, you may submit a new application at www.canada.ca/eTA.
You are no longer considered to hold a valid eTA. As such, you should not plan or undertake any travel to Canada.”
I am very very confused, as I do not see why this would’ve happened, I’m only 17 years old so I’m not sure what I could’ve done to have the eTA cancelled. Is this just a computer error and would my eTA still be valid? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks
