There is no timeframe for BGC. It's the longest part of the process.Does anyone know how long the BGC is? Thanks.

Your next communication should actually be the email notifying you that they've transferred your application, normally to the assigned VO for your country, but sometimes to Mississauga instead. I notice you said that your VO is Mexico City -- just be aware that the transfer notice there tends to come slower than for a lot of other places (there are a couple people on the December board also still waiting for their transfer notification 3+ weeks past medical).Hello Everyone,
So my spouse passed his medical examination and was passed and posted on the GCKey on the 12th March - since then, we haven’t received any other notification.
What should I expect to come next?
Regards.
You can apply for an extension. My wife has a multi entry Visitors Visa that is good until her passport expires. If your husband has a single entry I believe that you can still apply for an extension, and if you have a PR application being processed I think there is something called “implied status” but you’ll have to look into that more. That’s wonderful to hear!
I have a question regarding your spouse. How long can your spouse live in Canada with you? I plan on moving to Halifax within a few weeks and I want my spouse with me. Now based on the timeline it’s usually 12 months give or take - if my spouse comes with me in April that would allow him access for six months ending in roughly September more or less. Let’s say for some god forsaken reason we don’t get his PR within that time, will he have to exit the country or can we apply to extend his stay?
Hoping for a favourable response.
Thanks so much. I’ll just have to wait then - seeing that my application was transferred to Mexico’s VO.Your next communication should actually be the email notifying you that they've transferred your application, normally to the assigned VO for your country, but sometimes to Mississauga instead. Great feedback thank you. He does have a multi entry visa. We’ll look into the extension and “implied status” routes as soon as we get there. You can apply for an extension. My wife will get her PR before her current entry gets to 6 months, assuming PPR is the end of the line. I think they will cancel her Visitors Visa once the PR is issued. We plan to drive to upstate NY for a few hours and then come back to “land” her.
Good luck.
PA from which country.Hi there. I am still waiting for my spouse's application. IRCC received on Oct 15, 2018. Here is my timeline:

Link to my account on Feb 2
Singapore received mine on Feb 7 ( but they send again through my CIC account on Feb 13)

Biometric letter request on Feb 14
Biometric completed on Feb 18
Background check : "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."
Since then, I am still waiting for medical. I see some of the application in this group have medical passed in the early stage but mime is different. I think they are playing with my spouse's police check and send medical after this, but I am not 100% sure. Is anyone share the same timeline with me?
That line is confirmation that it was received by the local VO. It doesn't mean the background check has started (only GCKey would indicate that). I wouldn't worry, especially if you have a slow VO. This is all normal. If ecas says" we started processing ....application on ... Date. Whats does this mean?
Is it bg check or just that the application got forwarded to local Visa office.
Thanks a lot for the reply. These discussions help to feel i am not alone..That line is confirmation that it was received by the local VO. It doesn't mean the background check has started (only GCKey would indicate that). I wouldn't worry, especially if you have a slow VO. This is all normal.
Your agent should keep you informed..... If not confident with them then call IRCC using the automated information line ( self serve option ).Thanks a lot for the reply. These discussions help to feel i am not alone..
We all are in the same boat.
