guys.... please let me know if someone knows about it.... please
Well, I did it with a ATIO certified translator here in Toronto. I was recommeded to do so because there are some kind of additional documents the translation service provider needs to provide if we use translation service outside Canada. I think you might want to do it in Canada if possible. It's just easier. But of course, it MIGHT be more expensive than India. In my case, prices are the same. So, Your call, my friend.

I found it. So what CIC wants is a notarized translated document. First, translation can be done by any one, which falls to either certified translator or any other ones.

The so-called certified translator is, by definition, "A member in good standing of a provincial or territorial organization of translators and interpreters in Canada", meaning all those certified translator in Canada. Translators of this kind do not need to provide additional documents.

For others, the person who translates the documents need to provide an affidavit, which is, by definition, "a document becomes an affidavit when a person signs the document, in the presence of an authorized person, after taking an oath that what the document says is true and accurate". It is essentially an notarized declaration by the translator that he or she will take blame if the translation has any flaws...

In short, just go ask a certified translator in Canada to translate for you... But remember, you need to verify by yourself that they are certified translator.

@saddlepatch had a wonderful idea that we could use Discord for our chats - I've set one up with monthly channels and an overall general chat if anyone is interested it's linked on the tracker.

Sponsor Canadian citizen sponsoring husband PA from India. Any idea do we need to pay fee for dependants for PA even if they are not accompanying, because my husband doesn’t have custody of kids

btw I used the 12-2018 checklist and didn't know there was a new version till I saw your comments here..

Do you think it'll be an issue? I hope not.. especially when there is no big difference between the two versions, I guess..
Any educated answer will be very appreciated here.

there is a good chance your application will be sent back. There was updates to 2 forms and the checklist it self now needs certified translations for proof of contact.
