Hi Members,

I am in Canada and have received my CoPR last week. My fiance is
currently on 6 month visitor visa which is going to expire in 2 months.
We are planning to do registered marriage here in Canada.
I will get my PR card approx in 2 months. Based on this I have few questions:

1) Is it a good idea to get married now or shall I wait for PR card?
I just read somewhere on forum that I would have to update my status with CIC . Would it cause delay for getting PR card as I really dont want to complicate things.

2) We are planning for her visitor visa extension .Based on this we have two questions
i)Apply for extension individual as tourist.
ii)Apply for extension giving reason to CIC with intention of marriage
Which one would be most preferable?

3)What are the chances of getting extension of visitor visa on tourism?

Kindly advice.
Thanks.

So you haven't land yet? ( I don't know how EE receive your CoPR)
Or did you get the CoPR at "landing" similar to inland family sponsorship?

If you haven't landed yet, do not get married until you have landed. If you have already landed, you can get married without your PR Card.

No need. Just process your marriage now. For her to do the extension, the fast way to apply online.
And if you are getting married here, you need to get the marriage license first, once you have it, that will be really helpful to her to stay.
