Oh I see. They asked us to pay the biometric fee shortly after we linked the application. So I assume that they will ask for the biometrics soon before they send it to the V.O? Also, they asked us for an updated police certificate (the first one I sent was a physical copy, and reached 6 months maturity). The new one we simply scanned it and uploaded it to the GCKEY account. Is this an acceptable method? On the list it says to provide an "original copy", but on the request it said to preferably upload it.

Any insights?

and thank you for all the previous information, really appreciate it.
Yes, Biometric usually comes before transfer. I don't know about uploading police certificate. I think you can upload the scanned document but please call IRCC to confirm if you also need to send the original copy to them.

The CIC agent today told me, that they do NOT necessarily forward all parts of your application to the receiving VO. (They might, but they might not).

The protocol, he explained was to forward information pertaining to the PA. So, PAs documents, info, ID, family info etc. He said obviously all required forms and government certificates go to the VO.

We got talking about this because I asked if I qualify for "urgent processing" since I am due to have baby in May. He said, no, but that to ensure VO has all details about my situation, maybe I might want to forward my medical situation with my reference letter and MP's letter to the VO to ensure they 'have the full picture'. He said it is no guarantee that doing so would influence anything and applications still process in order, on case by case basis.

The agent informed me if there are mitigating circumstances for the sponsor, let's say Sponsor has a job offer or in my case, pregnancy, it does not hurt to send the VO a copy of that medical info. When assigned to Mexico VO, I "may" want to pop them an email with my application # + UCI and include my letter/ reference letters of utmost importance (like from my MP), doctor's letter or (sponsor's) medical results - baby's due date. He said this can or cannot have an affect and the reason being is those things aren't always forwarded on.

It is no guarantee that supporting items other than essential info for the PA are sent along with your file to the VO. The CIC agent on the phone today said Canada does hold some of the info that they use in the initial process. He did say: "Documents used to determine eligibility of the sponsor like bank and work info, photocopied pages of sponsor passport, work history, my bills, sponsor ID, lease agreement, bank info, etc, is a good chunk of it that does not need to get forwarded on", since sponsor eligibility is determined.

If some 'frivolous piece' of the application outside of official documentation or relation to the PA may be of importance in the case from the sponsor's side, by all means drop a line to the VO referencing your case. I thought this was a really interesting piece of advice. It is not a guarantee to say the initial office forwards things like reference letters, job offers or sponsor's pregnancy results to the VO.
Thank you for sharing the information with us.

Did you get your AOR yet? We want you to stay in December thread to boost our activities so that we always stay on top ;)
Thank you, these are very kind words :) I'm staying with you, you're like a little family to me now :)
No, I didn't get AOR yet. I believe February won't start getting AORs till at least Monday 18. It's an awkward feeling though... I'm reading your posts and stories, following you guys, even helping others, and at the same moment I'm at the stage zero - app submitted and waiting for AOR :D Nothing is happening...
But I'm trying to keep my excitement about a possibly coming AOR down anyway and not to be super excited caz I know that after the first stage of fast changes and BRs MRs there will be a super slow and silent stage of VO overseas, so I need to keep my patience and emotions for the future :)

@schweisy did your husband get his medical done if so have you heard anything back? My wife did hers on feb 28 and got a letter from ircc on march 4 that they have recieved it but still havent heard if she passed the test. Is the date they recieved suppose to reflect on GCkey ? Or just when tests are passed or not.

P.s. My Visa Office is also Vienna
Haha no, as most of the board is already extremely aware, it was really BLEEPING hard to get any appointment for him within the 30 days in all of Germany (or Prague!). He will finally be travelling to Frankfurt on Monday to get it done, and I am praying there are no problems with the trains, etc. So unfortunately I have no insights on this at all. I'm jealous yours is already done though! :p My guess is that if there were anything that would prevent your wife from passing the medical test, the doctor would have let her know. (What doctor would tell the government she has something wrong with her, but not the patient herself?!) I would suggest just waiting a few more days and checking GCKey then.

Also, I'm happy to have another Vienna VO person on here! We should definitely keep each other updated. Have you gotten any notification your file was transferred to Vienna yet?

I'm definitely always super curious about IRCC's actual internal processes, so thanks so much for taking the time to write this up! Very interesting. :)

Status has changed today to Passed so waiting to see what happens now. They requested biometric payment earlier feb so wondering now that the medical exams are out of the way will they request for the biometrics to be done before they ship it out to VO. Although i hope it's sent to Mississauaga and not Vienna. Our case is pretty straight forward and i am a canadian citizen living close by Mississauaga.

If you look at the research @JoshC did on which applications are being sent to Mississauga lately, it seems to be primarily about relieving pressure on the most overloaded/backlogged VOs rather than about which cases are most straightforward. Since Vienna isn't really considered overloaded, I kind of doubt either of ours will be lucky enough to go to Mississauga (confirmed also in my mind by the fact that most of the late November/early December application transfers to CPC-M seemed to happen in one big batch a week or two ago). That said, I'm crossing my fingers that I'm wrong, for both our sakes!

Got an email today that our file has been transferred to Cairo, not Hong Kong, where SA is, because she is originally from Egypt, I'm guessing.
Do you mind sharing your timeline?

Could you please direct me where to activate these nice-looking timeline signatures?
I don't actually know where people are getting the fancier image-based ones! Mine is just text -- feel free to copy & paste it into your own signature (you can edit that on your profile page).

I've still got this weird feeling that you're going to end up in CPC-M. :p
