Thanks for the response. Does status for eligibility as 'Met' means the same as 'Passed'? im not sure if they mean one and same thing?
It means the first officer has recommended eligibility met for your application. Now the second officer will go through all the documents once again and will most probably consider the first officer's recommendation unless he finds something odd with your eligibility.

I agree with @USProgrammer. People have really done themselves a disservice by not paying the RPRF upfront. Every RPRF request sent out by IRCC wastes valuable officer time and slows things down for everyone. In the rare instance that your application is rejected the RPRF is fully refundable.

You can see from the evidence in the forums right from September 2018 AOR that several people have paid their RPRF only to be met with months of silence. So where's the correlation with an imminent PPR? I wouldn't pay much mind to IP1/IP2 - it's all about the PPR after all.
True I should've paid it upfront, but no point complaining about it now. Sometimes there is so much information and we rarely knows what is for sure with ircc but I advise people applying now to pay their RPRF upfront

Edit: typo

Did you get this information on the phone or via CSE?

Glad your eligibility is met already. In terms of predicting how much longer a PPR will take, no one can truly answer that but IRCC though the signs are that only security remains to be completed.

Hello Friends,
Good luck to all who are waiting for updates to their profiles and of-course the PPR email. I called the IRCC number and after a wait of almost 30 mins got connected to agent.
My details are as follows:
Applied under EE with nomination from OINP and NOC code 2171 .currently residing in US
ITA - 15th Oct 2018 | AOR - 2nd Dec 2018 | MEP - 15th Jan | IP1 - 16th Jan| IP2(Background check in progress) 28 Jan 2019.

Following is what the IRCC agent responded:
Visa office - sydney , nova scotia
eligibility - met
criminality - passed
security - not started

Forum experts : Wanted to know what should i decipher from it in terms of eligibility and how long does the security take to complete?

Appreciate your response.

Thank you.

Are you sure 'met' doesn't mean 'passed' already? Wouldn't they use 'recommended pass' for those that need an additional officer to sign off?

That's great progress. I had my AOR on 03-Dec but they haven't started neither my eligibility nor my security checks.
Security shouldn't take long unless they pick you for enhanced security screening, let's just hope no one here gets into this black hole.

I have read they both usually mean same thing in some cases. But he seems to have pretty much cleared eligibility here unless something drastically changes :)

You are moving at a fast pace.

I am Nov 2 AOR and still have no clue what's going on with my application. Last I checked, the agent said no background checks have been initiated and eligibility is still under progress.

I don't think additional review is required for eligibility when it's been marked 'met' already - I believe that's the highest bar. I think 'met' and 'passed' are used interchangeably.
