I have a question regarding medical exam.

Hypothetically speaking, if someone was found to have infectious diseases such as active tuberculosis, will they be denied entry based on medical inadmissibility? Certain infectious diseases are curable specifically TB (tuberculosis), but it was mentioned specifically in medical inadmissibility. I'm just wondering if someone has experience with this type situation.

From what I read, procedural fairness letter will be issued if they feel that your application could be denied based on medical grounds. You are then given opportunities to provide information and evidence on the medical diagnosis and treatment to cure your disease etc.

I've seen a post someone whose mother was found to have cancer. But, that case would fall directly under the cost associated with the disease rather than the "danger to public health". Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Tuberculosis is somewhat prevalent in my old country and I'm just trying to prepare for the possibility of that diagnosis, although I do not believe my parents have TB. No one in the extended family has it and my parents have been living with them. The reason why tuberculosis is labelled "infectious" is because it can spread to others really fast through saliva and sharing utensils etc. That's why I do not believe that they have tuberculosis because no one in the family has it. If they did have it, someone else would have been diagnosed with it by now and my 70 years old dad would certainly shows sign of TB. A

Anyhow, I'm just trying to prepare for the worst while I hope for that best.

Thanks guys!

We are waiting for our application result and my parents are already in Canada living with me. I am wondering if they need to leave the country and come back if the application gets approved? Or they can also do flagpolling as I did (living in Burnaby). Can I accompany them in the office, or they need to speak for themselves? I am planning to see if it is easier for them to leave the country and come back, or to learn sufficient English to be able to speak with the officer?

You can do "inland landing". You can certainly accompany them to the immigration office and speak for them on their behalves especially if you appointed yourself as their representative.

Hmm, found the answer to my own question! This discussion https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/active-tb.497039/page-4 has everything on TB related medical inadmissibility and more!

Hey Guys,

@YULIA-2016 - Please add this to the 2018 Parents and Grand Parents Sponsorship google docs sheet under 2018 tab.

I was invited to submit my parents application under PGP-2018 in March, 2018. Here is my status:

Invited: March, 2018
Application reached Ottawa: May, 2018
AOR: August, 2018
DM for Sponsor: October, 2018
Police Clearance, Medicals and Correspondence(Travel History, Details of Govt Service, Resume, Schedule A): November, 2018
Medicals Pass & Final Decision- In Progress: December, 2018

Questions:
1. Does anyone have an idea as to why the status in the Online account that was created in Jan 2019 is showing "We need additional documents to process your application. We will send you a letter or email with details" for the past 30 days? We neither have email correspondence pending nor received any new correspondence from IRCC in the last 30 days. Is this just an issue in the system with the status not being updated from their end?

2. If they are in the home country, do they have to travel within 6 months from the date PR visa is issued for landing and live 2 out of 5 years in Canada to maintain their PR status?

2. My parents are approved for TRV (Visit) 5 years ago but never traveled to Canada. I am planning to bring them over this summer and if PR application is approved while they are here, Can we request IRCC to send them the passport to Ottawa instead of the home country visa office? If yes, what is the approach?

Please advise :)

Thanks

You have to wait what MIN LICO is going to be for 2020. But, looking at your previous income statements and the future one, you should be fine to sponsor your parents. All you need is MIN LICO for 3 people, which isn't much. By the way, recheck your NOAs again. I suspect that you meant 2016 and 2017 NOAs, as you would have received those in 2017 and 2018. We won't be filing 2019 tax return until 2020 April.

1) Contact the responsible visa office if they require any additional documents. They will reply fairly quick.
2) Yes. They must follow the rules just like any other PRs. The two years in Canada does not need to be continuous and some times abroad may be counted towards 730 days as well. See this link for more details http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=727&top=4
3) It is possible. Contact your local visa office and Ottawa office for change of mailing address, and that you want to do "inland landing" in Canada. They will advise you how to proceed.

It appears that your parents aren't so keen to come to Canada or at least not in a rush to come here. They had TRV that has never been used and you are now inquiring if they need to live in Canada for 2 years to keep their PR status. Interesting.....

they closed your case pretty fast, not everybody is so lucky, some people are waiting IME more than 7-12 mon
Oh wow. I didn't know that. But even when I submitted my app for my PR I already included my PCC. They never asked a new PCC from me. It took 15 mos for the immigration to make a decision for my application.

Hi guys,

Just one quick question.
I'm sponsoring my mom, and we are at a stage that LVO is holding up our application for reviewing PCC while IME passed.

The thing that I would like to ask is about Pre-Arrival Services letter.
Is this mandatory that we take some action according to the Pre-Arrival Service letter, and receive some service?
We've received the pre-arrival letter well before the PCC and IME, and my mom is currently residing in Canada with Supervisa.
So, I'm not quite sure whether it matters or not to take the service provided, or it could potentially delay the process?

For those of you who already received the PPR, did you guys take the service?

Thanks,
