Sorry to hear that. That's awful. I think IRCC should let their agent know about temporary file number. The agent was so confident that I bought it.
Never believe anything a call center agent tells you. They give out wrong information all the time.

Hi,

I’m just a little clueless. I sent my application on Oct. 26th. I didn’t get an AOR, but I did just get an email saying that I meet the federal eligibility as a sponsor. Does anyone happen to know if I’m supposed to get an AOR 1 after this? Or if I’m reeeally behind in the process?
An agent told me you may get this first. It’s okay everything is all good.

Hey guys! Back again (still no SA or Med exam), but I (the sponsor, CA citizen) and my husband (Primary Applicant from UK) have been trying to send online enquiry forms to the IRCC to change my middle name (as I noticed there was an extra letter in my middle name on the AOR), and it keeps getting bounced back no matter what we have tried (we submitted all of the additional documents they asked for, and then they told him he was not a representative of the sponsor, meanwhile they turned away my application because I wasn't a representative of the primary applicant!!!!).

I've called their number SO MANY times and have been hung up on each time due to the volume of calls.

I was wondering where I should go from here. Should we fill out IMM5774e (consent for access to information and personal info request) so I can get access to his info and try the IRCC online enquiry form YET again? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Are there any other avenues we should pursue?

I'm really frustrated at this point. I'm just worried this extra letter will hold back everything, from the sponsor approval to them even returning my application back.

Also, where do we send the IMM5774e anyway? Is there a way to do it online?

Have you ensured that both of you have filled out and signed "User of a Representative" documents?

Thank you for your answer

I am in Canada now for visiting my husband, can i do my biometric here?
I would suggest calling IRCC. There is an exemption if you are in Canada (Fill out the page and you see the yellow notice regarding applicants in already in Canada).
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/biometrics.asp
Also look into the list of locations you can have your biometric done (In most cases, it says it is for students and workers)

I called this morning and was lucky to get to talk to an agent.
It seems like our application is already in their system and that it is normal that we are not getting AOR since we are not applying inland.
The first e-mail we are supposed to receive is seemingly the sponsor approval, and they are still processing SAs (not AORs) for those who applied before October 9th.
No choice but to wait now... we would have been more at ease if we received an e-mail though.

Hi, in our case, we never got an email that had log in instructions or anything.
Since you now have an application number/UCI, you can link your application to an online GCkey account.

Congrats on your AOR!
Thanks. But I’m starting to think there is something wrong as they didn’t send the SA. Possibly writing up something to return it back to me ?!

We have not yet, but we are definitely thinking of doing this because neither of us could speak on behalf of one another. This system is so counterintuitive! Would this be wise, or should we hold off until we have an opportunity to correspond with the IRCC (I didn't know this was a thing, but we got advice from someone who used to deal with these sort of issues and they said that there is a chance of corresponding with them)?

So - what you have to do, is fill in the online form, and in the upload section you send in the Use of Representative Forms. You won't get anywhere until you send those in. They will link it to your account, then they will respond to you.
