Hi could the experienced ones please help!!!!!!!!

I am new to this forum and I am looking to sponsor both my parents.
Side info: I have recently submitted my spouses sponsorship application.

1) Is it possible to sponsor your parents if you have just applied for your spouse.

2) Would I have to put a family size of 4 (me, my spouse and my parents) or 3 (myself and my parents - since my spouse is still not with me)
******the family size would make a difference for me with the income

3) Could someone also enlighten me on the whole process of parent sponsorship?

Thanks in advance:)

*** I have read someone mention, that the family size could be 3 since my spouse doesn't live with me and we haven't filed any taxes together.

Anyone here who is in the same boat like me:

ECAS status

Application to Sponsor : In Process
PR application : In Process

Does it mean that the sponsorship was approved and haven't updated the ECAS status yet and the PR processing has been started?

Thank you in advance.
Can we have your timeline?

thankx

That's what happened when they started processing sponsorship approval or made a decision on SA. You should get DM on SA soon. Once your file has been transferred to local visa office, "In Process" status for PR will change back to "Submitted", as your assigned LVO has just got your PR application file and will process it on first come first serve basis.

Yes, you can sponsor your parents while your spousal sponsorship is in the process. As for family size, I believe you only have to put down 3, as spousal sponsorship does not require to meet any specific LICO. But, I might be wrong on family size.

However, my own experience suggests otherwise. I included everyone (me, my wife, baby, and parents = 5). But, when I sought help to link my application to my online account, I found out that CIC did not include my wife and baby in the family size and put down 3. That's why I was having problem linking to online account. Anyhow, if you really want to be sure, call CIC and inquire about it. Then, ask the agent to send you a follow up email with the answer to you question. That way, you have the answer in writing and you can reference it if problem arises in the future.

None in my junk mail. I just assumed the vienna part because my parents will come from germany and its says LVO is Vienna.. :D

My ecas says:
Sponsorship
  1. We received your application to sponsor xxxx
Dependents listed on the application are: xxxxx.
  2. We started processing your application on November 6, 2018.
  3. We sent you correspondence on December 11, 2018 about the decision on your application.

Hi can someone give some insight on this...I plan on sponsoring my mom including me it will be a family of 2 and I meet the income requirement for a family of 2. However she does have a dependent that is my brother and he's 18 yrs old. Will they consider this a family of 3 even though I won't be sponsoring him? My plan is to sponsor my mom and then she can sponsor him after she arrives in Canada.
you can sponsor him as her dependant now , don't wait or he will be too old, if you meet the income requirement, it might take two years and then your mum will have to work for three years before she can sponsor him

Thanks for the swift response. Does this mean that the information still comes to the mailing address/ email address submitted during the application phase. I will only need to fill this form if I want to directly make enquiry about the application.

Thx.
It will still come but IRCC won't communicate with you on their behalf.

I would think family size will be 4 - when you sponsor a spouse, don't you provide an undertaking to support your spouse for X number of years in Canada? If so, that would be picked up in question 9 in the Financial Evaluation document. That will bring your family size to 4.

Also, I think you have correctly included 5 in your application as that is for purposes of minimum income calculation. For purposes of linking, you only count the persons who are part of the application and whose information/documents get reviewed so to speak - that is you (as sponsor) and your parents, so that is 3. If your wife was a co-sponsor, her information will also be reviewed, so you would have had to put 4. Children do not get reviewed so you do not count those for purposes of linking.

I thought about that too, and that's why I brought up my family size. I counted my wife on financial evaluation form as you said (Number of persons included in previous undertaking you singed as a sponsor and that are still in effect). So, I thought my family size would be at least 4. But, nope 3 only, perhaps they only count people that are part of the application as you suggested. But, if that's the case, am I meeting LICO for 5 or 3? Family size information should remain the same even if I'm just using that info to link to online account.

For him, his wife would show up on IMM5768 3B(ii) - number of persons included in previous undertaking you signed as a sponsor and that are not in effect.

Anyway, I advised him to call CIC to be absolutely sure, and have a copy of the answer in the email for reference purpose. It's good to have answer from fellow PGP applicants. But, it's much better to get definitive answer right from the source to eliminate the possibility that the answer from others could be wrong. In fact, even CIC agents provides wrong answers. That's why it's good to have a follow email to keep it for your own record.

You have to meet income for 5 as you suggested. If you have 3 kids, you will need to meet income requirements for 7 (you, wife, 3 kids, 2 parents). This is to ensure financially everyone will be provided for. This is different than linking for purposes of application - there they ask how many people are part of the application - those 2 things are not necessarily the same (they could be if a single person is sponsoring both parents with no other undertakings). Ex. your baby is not part of any application so should not be counted for purposes of linking.
