Many different combinations work for different people. In our case we used application # and city of birth, we also found that typing in all caps made the difference . We linked after the 4th tryHi guys
I tried to link my app with gckey account but its coming like app not found
Any body tell me what to do now
There are options to choose from. Mine, I used the app # and the passport details of the principal applicant and it did go through. And don’t forget to fill up the portion where there is question about the province and city that the PA intends to live in, and the # of applicants. You should write 2 (includes sponsor and PA) if no other dependents/kids involved. Many different combinations work for different people. Why would you write 2 if the sponsor is a canadian citizen living in canada ?There are options to choose from. That's how the system works. Why would you write 2 if the sponsor is a canadian citizen living in canada ?
As the sponsor whether a permanent resident or a canadian citizen needs to be approved as well. The sponsor is part of the application. After the AOR, the IRCC will send another letter which is the “sponsorship approval” or SA they call it for short, stating that the/your “Sponsor” is eligible to sponsor the principal applicant. Why would you write 2 if the sponsor is a canadian citizen living in canada ?

In our case, we (sponsor and PA) both linked the app to our individual accounts. That's how the system works.
You will never be able to link by inputting 1.
Someone asked how many accounts you can link to.
To one only - I was wrong when advised that you can link to more than one.
No they won’t. That number that I was referring, is the number that you are going to enter on that specific field when you are just linking your app to your gckey acct. Not the one in the paper application. So will they return my application because we put 1?
Yes i heard that they updated the forms and dated 11-2018I called cic’s call centre today and they told me that my application was returned back due to “undertaking” form was incomplete as i didn’t answered Q#15. Also need to send the complete application again with most recent updated forms as they are outdated now with signatures. What a pain in *** .. have to start my application from the beginning now which would add another month for preparing the file and minimum 03 months for waiting AOR if file would be fine the second time.
Hmmm. As soon as I linked as the sponsor, the applicant got an email that the application is linked to another account and, at the same time, the app disappeared from his account. In our case, we (sponsor and PA) both linked the app to our individual accounts.

Strange.
I have to go back and read our previous conversations as I know you said something earlier. Isn’t it you said that you were appointed as the representative of the PA? So all the communications from IRCC will be sent to you exclusively. In our case, we never appointed one of us to be the rep. We both linked the app to our separate accounts, and both accounts are showing the same updates.Hmmm.
