Thank you for sharing your experience !
Hope many will view to help understand what we have to endure to be with our loved ones.
I see you have been through a lot and sense your frustration regarding this process. No worries, that's reasonable and you are correct, it is not transparent. I am new to this forum and like everyone else " anxiously waiting " . After reading many post's and see what families have to go through almost seems inhumane. ( sorry for the strong word ). This has been a real ' eye-opener ' for me and agree there needs to be a more defined process for sponsorship especially with their communications. Not knowing what's happening for long periods of time is causing distress for many people while they try to contact the CIC call center with long hold times, dropping off calls, and voice messages that say to try again later. I have been there myself. Maybe they just don't have enough trained and qualified employees working for them to handle the workload.
From your past experience just shows people do make mistakes. I think they should have tried diligently to make it up to you. Unfortunately no one care or take responsibility. Just hide it under the table until it goes away. ( More family time lost ). I wounder if the letter you wrote made a difference? 18 months is way too long! Thought Canada is a humanitarian Country.

I live in a " garden ". Traveled to many cool places and seen in person the large billboards outside the Canadian Embassy showing how great Canada is. " 2018 Year of Tourism ". We have a lot to be thankful for and I never expected to fall in love.
If you are together this season enjoy your family every day!
Merry Christmas to all

Thank you for your response and kind wishes. Patience is what I wish for everyone the most during this holiday season and the next months... our time will come, surely. Merry Christmas to you also! :) :)

Looks like linking the application is different for everyone...I first tried using UCI and App nr, did not work. Then I tried using sponsor's information and UCI, also did not work. Finally, I used the application number with PA's family name and place of birth. Voila! Third time's a charm.

Ecas is where you check the status of your application.
I always google "ecas cic" to land on their page:)
Then you choose one of the forms of ID from their drop down menu (so you must know either your UCI, receipt number etc), last name and date of birth.
Thankyou, very helpfull i ll try
