I just checked ECAS
July 20th applicant no A0R email yet,
But able to check my ECAS.
Im trying to link to gckey but it wont go thru or maybe i did the wrong procedure to link it.

Kindly please help me.

Whos information should be on the APPLICATION DETAILS? (sponsor or applicant)

- do i need to put 0 for the number of applicant (ex. 04?)
- how about passport number? ( should i include the Letter or just the number?

And this came with PA's address ! No AOR nothing yet. If I (sponsor) login with my details nothing comes up..I wonder if this comes from NDVO? Any seniors may please answer ..Thanks

ECAS is just a website where you can view your/your sponsors application. You just type in your information and it will pull your application up. I would recommend setting up a GCKEY account using "Family Name and Application File Number" you will be able to see PA's information that way. ECAS is mainly for looking at the sponsor's updates and GCKEY for PA's.

called CIC yesterday, they representative was a nice guy took all my information, came up with good news that my application was approved few hours before I called and given me the file number which start with F and told will get the email soon. It has been more than a day I don see any email (none of us) I was able to do ECAS/Link to GCKey today though. My application was reached to Sydney,NS on July27.

Getting access to ECAS and GCKey is as good as receiving that email (AOR1). Some people never even receive one but they're already here in Canada. Congrats! Updates should come fast.

Does anyone know what happens after final decision is made? Like do they send your permanent resident document to you (if Outland)? Do you have to go pick it up? Do they schedule a specific time you need to go to Canada etc?

If the final decision is positive, they'll send an email to the PA requesting for his/her passport. They will provide instructions on where to send it and what other requirements are needed when the passport is submitted (Appendix B, photos, etc.). The PA can drop it in or mail it via a courier. A sticker (visa) will be placed in the passport and they will notify PA if it's available for pick up or delivered back. The PA will have to go to Canada before the visa expires. The expiration is usually a year after the medical was done.

If their decision is going to be negative, they'll give a chance to the applicant first to send in more proofs that will strengthen the application. They will then make the final decision after.

To link on GCKey, it has to be the PA's information. For the number of applicants, it has to be at least 2 (PA + sponsor). If you have dependents, just add them to that number. For the passport number, input it as is.

Where would the pick up be if it can't be delivered?

So that means the PA has a year to move to Canada? What happens once they get to Canada? Is a PR Visa only good for a year at a time, thus having to be renewed?

The pick-up would be wherever you sent it to or wherever they told you to pick it up. It varies from country to country.

So if the medical exam was done today, October 6, 2018 for example, then the visa will probably expire on October 6, 2019. It doesn't matter if your application was approved January 2019 or July 2019. You will have to be in Canada before October 6 still. As for once you get to Canada, I'm not aware of the exact process yet. The PA will receive a seminar invitation that explains the process before the flight.

I applied for outland application for my wife in July 10. No communication from CIC so far. Stressful situation. Any one on the same boat. Please suggest what should I do now.

Hey Please call CIC, As in my case when i called CIC and agent said my application was opened for almost 8 days and strange that noting uploaded online. So she sent a reminder to visa officer. Next day i see my file on ecms and AOR too received same day. when you call CIC press options 2 1 1 0

I have a friend who will be landing as a PR in March 2019 and once he gets a survival job, he wants to initiate sponsorship for his wife, so after getting his 1st pay slip, can he initiate family class sponsorship - outland with his pay stub, a letter from his employer and proof of funds, i.e. a fixed deposit in India of amount equivalent to 14k-15k CAD, provided all other docs are ready, kindly guide..
