Are you serious? I also had one empty box but because there was nothing to write. (left 1 entire row deldeliberately

I went to a consultant with my filled application, She was so nice she initially mentioned she would charge me 500 but after seeing that I had prepared my application up to mark she just charged me her 1hr consultation fee - 100 +HST . Got lucky

My case was a bit sensitive, since we had used an old checklist by mistake, and hence no criminal record upfront (I had included an Schedule A, and all other forms were fine). Some on the forum said my application will be sent back without getting processed. But thankfully it seems the officer accepted it.

I was also able to link my application to the online account on the third try. Used Internet Explorer, and a recipe that was shared on this blog. So far, so good... waiting to see when they'll ask for the criminal record.

What's the secret behind linking the application to the account? I've tried the ways mentioned on the forums, but so far it's drawn a blank.

For 'Place of Birth' or 'Passport' information, who's am I putting in? The sponsors or the principal applicants?

So far the information I've put in goes as follows:

Permanent Residence > Family Class (Spouse)
Application number and UCI > Copy and paste from email
Passport > Sponsors info and tried Principal Applicants info
Place of Birth > Sponsors info and tried Principal Applicants info
Province/City you'll be living in > AB, Calgary
Marital status > Married
Number of family members > 2 (my self and husband)

So what am I doing wrong here? What's the magic trick I'm missing to get this to work? Thanks in advance!

Hi @Npops I previously posted here how I linked my app, it work at the first try, so it could be useful for you. Note that I used only principal applicant information to link. I didn't use UCI number, only App number. Good luck, André.

I used this same recipe, and it worked the first time. The UCI doesn't seem to be accurate so use the Application number instead, as suggested here. I added one blank space after the city of birth, as I saw someone suggested. For me it worked on the same day we received the cic email. Also, I used IE browser.

Use Application number and family name instead of UCI. That did the trick for me.
