Hi...
I am currently working in India and my husband has got an offer letter for postdoc position in Toronto. Can any one pls help me out in following
1.do i have to get my convocation degree and marksheet notarised or authentication from ministry of external affairs. My masters degree certificate is from pune University so is a transcript required or the marksheet and degree certificate is sufficient?
2. We have to apply through VFS or online submission of visa application? Which process will be the earliest as the joining date for him is December 1st 2018
3. I have daughter of 9 years what documents i need to submit do i need study permit for her?
I request to kindly reply asap as i have to start preparing the documents for sowp application and the time with us is less considering the joining date...

1. Follow directions for spousal OWP. No you don't need you education documents.
2. Usually takes around 4 months
3. You can apply for a study permit or TRV for you child to study. Would ask for the expiry date to match the expiry date of your husband's permit/visa.

Hey my husband also applied in 30 may from canada . Its online application which is processed in india . Even I dnt get any update from cic. Almost waiting from three months as you are . Its too long .

My wife applied on 17 May.. No update..not even asking for medical.

Due to demand might be taking longer than 4 months. Priority is to get primary applicant to school or work.

Hi Neha,did you guys tried to contact CIC/Indian immigration ?
I have contacted both sides and they said they don’t have any information.
Its so frustrating.

Did you perform the medicals tests? Or they just rejected your application without even ask for it? Also, they usually send a letter with the reasons.

Yes, I have applied with my medical and it was passed within a time of 25 days. now I am waiting for my refusal notes from CIC that I have requested online which will take around 30-45 days.
To All of you who are applying for, SOWP, I will give you one suggestion after I have done all my research through CIC and lawyer in Canada
please mention that in your application this is a really important part of your application otherwise officers misinterpret your application and they think you are applying for LMIA category C41(spouse of skilled worker)

1) we are eligible for category C42(spouse of a full-time student ) / section 205(c) (ii)
2) also mention that in your cover letter you are applying for the open work permit code (C42)

Because there are many types of open work permit so we have to mention that the right category code to full fills your eligibility.

In that form, U can find one box called (Details of Intended to work in Canada) U can mention that spouse open work permit(C41/C42)
U can check that link again which category you are eligible for( C41 OR C42 OR another program )
but make sure ask your agent or lawyer before you made your application.
As per my research better to mention category code to understand your case when the visa officer checks your Application.

Yes, you can do upfront and need to submit the proof of medicals done from the hospital along with your application. Reports wont be given to you and will be directly sent to visa office. If you are from India, its 4000 approx. You need to carry 3 photos + passport copy + primary applicant employment letter.

If you haven't done but submitted the application you will get medical request.

hi WED to be honest with you I got information from that CIC site so please take advise from Agent before you make an application.

Hi there, thanks for the answer. I live in Canada and my wife is in India.So what about the employment letter in that case because she is the only applicant and I have already uploaded my employment letter in her SOWP file.
