I applied for my wife spouse visa living in India. The application was recieved on may 22 2018 and till date I have not got any file number. Please guide me what's happening?
May be your application is returned, try to call CIC and ask them specifically to check whether they returned application? I submitted my application on 8 June 2018, My application was returned, and now I resubmitted my application

DM for the principal applicant or the sponsor? For the sponsor, often just a couple of weeks. For the principal applicant, it depends massively on nationality, complexity of case and visa office. Talking a rough window of 2-10 months depending on all these factors. Those at the faster end of the scale are rare.
Thanks for the response! It's just because they acknowledged my RFPF and Schedule A after sending it through a web form on July 3. And my Police Clearance on July 25. I HAVENT heard from them since and my GCKEY hasnt changed anything and still has its "We need additional documents..." Its a bit worrisome.

I'm afraid I don't have experience of using the webform but if they've acknowledged receipt of those documents that should be ok - I think GCKEY can be slow to update at times, especially if the documents were sent outside of GCKEY. If they haven't acknowledged something you've sent after a little while it might be worth sending again through the webform and requesting acknowledgement.

Hello everyone,

My wife just recieved a 'request letter' stating amongst other things: "Your application for permanent residence in Canada has reached the final stage of processing. Before itcan be finalized, you must follow the instructions below within 30 days of the date of this letter. "

Then they also asked for submitting passport and stuff (photos)

ECAS is also showing 'decision made' but CIC tool is still showing 'background check in progress'.

Is this basically an acceptance?

The only problem is that her passport expires March 9, 2019. And the Serbian Government says that she cannot renew her passport until September 9.

Wondering if we should send everything ASAP (Monday morning in Belgrade) or contact CIC and ask for an extension until she receives her new passport. Is she able to send in her old passport to Vienna, receive the visa, then when she gets her new passport, get the old stamp transferred over to her new passport?

Best of luck to everyone else in this!

Canada revamps processing times system for some Canadian permanent residence applications.

The Government of Canada announced on August 9 that processing time estimates for some Canadian permanent residence applications will now be based on pending applications undergoing processing rather than historical data of applications processed in the past.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) replaced the previous method of historical processing time forecasting, which was based on how long it took to process 80 per cent of applications in the past year. The new projected time approach will benefit some prospective permanent resident applicants by displaying processing times based on the current number of applications waiting to be processed and how quickly IRCC expects to process 80 per cent of those applications.

Projected processing times are now available for the following Canadian permanent resident categories:

With this update to processing times estimations, IRCC looks to expedite processing of applications and provide individuals eligible for permanent immigration to Canada a clearer pathway to permanent residence.

The moment you get your AOR. The one that says “link your application” and where you can find your application number and UCI. You can also try calling CIC regarding this because they helped me step by step on linking our application online, which we successfully did! Thanks to the agents!

So all this time you have been submitting your documents through web form? When did you send your application?
yeah through courier service because i couldent link my application so i have to pay 40 dollar every time they got my application at May 1st then i gave my medical at june 20th they ask my background check doc at july 15 i sent it at july 26th and now i am just waiting and tracking through ecas

Hi there to anyone who can help!
My husband is PA and I am Canadian citizen/sponsor.
Our Application was received on February 19 of this year. We have done the medical exam, police checks.
The last time we have heard from them was June 19, stating our application was being transferred the London Visa Office.
My husband is a Polish citizen residing in the UK. He has a son living in Poland who we put on the application, but his son is not moving to Canada with us. CIC has requested a medical exam and visa photos done of him, but we are unable to do those. So we have sent a letter to Mississauga (in May, before they contacted us stating it has been moved to London VO) stating that we do not plan to bring his son to Canada and he is in full custody with his mother and we are unable to provide those documents. Unfortunately, we have not heard anything from them since. So naturally, we are a little paranoid our application is being 'put to the side.'
Does anyone have any information on this, or a contact number to contact the London VO regarding this? We're unsure if this silence is normal, but it seems from this thread similar people with our timelines are already stages ahead of us. I am wondering if we should just go ahead an contact the Mississauga office again but I have a feeling they will say it's all up to the London VO now.
Anyways, thank you kindly to anyone who can give us any insight!
