IMM008 question

Hello Everyone,

I just had a really quick question, I am sponsoring my wife in Cambodia (Outland), and I am just finishing up the documents, but I am stumped on IMM008 form, where it asks about Dependents (why it stumps me is because it asks "Even if they plan to accompany you to Canada or not), does her Mother and Father and brothers mean her dependents? or does it just mean if we had a child that we would put there information there (we do not have any children) also for any question that we do not have a answer for or does not apply (like a fax number, etc) do just put N/A ? oh and if I do not mention her parents or anything in dependents section does it mean we cannot ever sponsor them? cheers and thank you so much for taking time to read this

Dependant
A spouse, common-law partner or dependent child of a permanent resident or principal applicant.

An applicant’s closest relatives, in the context of an application to IRCC. It is defined as a spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependent children.

Father, Mother, brothers, sisters are not considered dependants in the context of spousal sponsorship.........and cannot be added to spousal sponsorship application.

Its not mandatory that you include a child or dependant (accompanying or non-accompanying) in the spousal sponsorship application........if you have no children or dependants.....then don't include any dependants.

You only need to include her parents, brothers and sisters information the IMM5406 - Additional Family Information form

Sponsor your parents and grandparents

Thank you, I guess I just got confused on the part where it said if they are accompanying to Canada or not, so I guess I can leave that section blank
