i thought the education and job need not be related since everyone does not work in the same field as studied.....Experts any comments here ??????

In Australia it needs to be related that is why they ask for both reference letter and transcripts to determine how many years of relevant work exp you have. And the assessing authorities are different for different areas like for IT the assessing authority is ACS and for Finance there is a different authority.

It has a very different process. You first need to send them your transcripts plus employment reference letter and they will check if your education and job relates to each other. According to that you are given points in the calculator. And their is some criteria for number of years of work experience. Like you should have attained the qualification before you started working.
and then you need to find out if your job is in high demand list or not. If it is not then you need to go for state nominations and there is a contract to live in that province for a particular time( only if that province nominates you and you get PR)

Unfortunately, it is not true at all. Have two 8.5s (reading and speaking) two 8s (writing and listening), 3 and a half years work exp in education related field (internal audit) and 32 years and stand at 65 points. For my occupation one year after graduation is qualifying exp (they do not count it in total points). With all the maximum points, age up to 32 (after that you lose points), experience 5 years and bachelor ot master degree (there is no point difference) I would have had 80 points which is current cut off for auditors. For IT occupations cut off is at 75. Only a year ago cut off for auditors was at 65 points and two years ago at 60 points (for provincial nomination 55 points was enough). The trend has been the same for all occupations, points have gone through the roof! So that effect, coupled with problems in USA has made Canada more difficult. People now opt for Canada as a more viable choice. I, myself, spent around 1500 AUD for Australian immi purposes, total waste of money!

Ontario has issued more invitations to apply for a provincial nomination to Express Entry candidates through its Skilled Trades and French-Speaking Skilled Workers streams.


The new invitation rounds took place May 9 and 10 and are the sixth that Ontario has held in each stream since the end of March.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) said the 48 Express Entry candidates invited in this round through the Skilled Trades Stream submitted their Express Entry profiles between January 1, 2018, and May 9, 2018.

The 18 invited through the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream submitted their Express Entry profile between January 1, 2018, and May 10, 2018.

There is no minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement for either streams.

Ontario has now issued 652 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) through Ontario’s Skilled Trades Stream since the start of 2018 and 438 through its French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream.

The province has also issued 2,587 NOIs since the start of 2018 to Express Entry candidates through its Human Capital Priorities Stream.

The OINP says it will continue issuing NOIs to candidates in the federal Express Entry pool who qualify for one of Ontario’s Express Entry streams “on a regular basis.”

To find out if you are eligible to enter the Express Entry pool, fill out a FREE assessment form.

600 CRS points for a provincial nomination
The Skilled Trades Stream is for skilled workers with a valid Express Entry profile who qualify for the Canadian Experience Class and have work experience in an eligible skilled trade.

The French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream was launched in 2015 to target French-speaking Express Entry candidates who qualify for either the Federal Skilled Worker Class or the Canadian Experience Class and who have sufficient English language abilities (CLB 6 or higher).

There are also unique provincial criteria for both streams.

Express Entry candidates who are issued a NOI by Ontario and receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 CRS points, leaving them well positioned to receive an Invitation to Apply, or ITA, in a later Express Entry draw.

Express Entry candidates who received a NOI in this latest invitation round have 45 calendar days from the date the NOI letter was issued to submit an online application to the OINP.

Yes thats true. Australia eats up majority of foreign exp and that leads to a low score. Also if your occupation is not in skilled occupation list you only have the option of state nominations. And there are not many states who nominate. And then they have the contract thing to be in the state for a particular time.
Its really a big headache.

Hey what if CIC decides to have a 3-week draw this time as was the case in March. I have a strong feeling because we have 5 Wednesday in this month and I feel that CIC really doesn't want the cut off to drop below 440.

Hope that cut-off falls atleast to 438..i have crs of 440 entered pool on 10th may..i have a strong feeling that cutoff drops to atleast 440 next draw..keep hopes guys!!

Very good try but, you have ommited some important facts:
1. EE is not just for FSW or CEC candidates but also for part of PNP immigrants.
2. It could be estimated that app 25% of all PNP went through EE (that is app. 13k people).
3. So in total app. 88k immigrants.
4. This year it looks like 1/3 of all PNP will use EE.
5. That together with higher quota will mean app. 100k people going through this system.
6. Lower amount of ITA Between September and February, does point to the overheating effect.
7. Overheating happened in the first half of 2017, where 3/4 of all ITA were issued. As a result people with lower score got in (albeit at cost of others during the second half year).
8. It looks that they learned they lessons and they do not go crazy anymore. Which gives them higher points candidates (and same strategy can be seen in Ontario PNP).
9. System gained lot of notoriety (that one is obvious given amount of active profiles).
10. Another side effect of the notoriety is the decreasing amount of declined ITA (which is the biggest portion of all wasted ITA).
11. Notoriety is also causing increase amount of new applicants per day (and you can see that when you compare statistic data of how many people in each point range did enter every day - just checking them for the last 6 months will give away increasing trend).
12. App. 500 ITA each draw are just for PNP applicants. So there are only 3k ITA per draw left. Which give according to your calculation 42k ITA for people without PNP.
13. Since moth PNP applicants are people with a bit lower score that are catching up with PNP, that would point to following conclustion:
- anybody below 430 - increase your score or forget about Canada
- 431-435 - only a big irregularity in the system would help you. but that one is not probable, so work on your score.
435-440 - you have chance, but time is against you, as the balance will go slowly up. You might profit from occasional swings because of low IELTS release or unexpected draw.
441-450 - grab you ITA while you still can, next year it might be too late
451+ a current safe zone for ITA

I have a CRS score of 432. I have lost all hope now :'(

What does this mean? 48 people from expess entry pool got flushed out? How does this affect guys like me who is in pool?
