Definition of Dependant

Hi everyone,

I'm a bit confused with the definition of Dependant in imm0008enu_2d.

According to the form, it says

"You must provide the following details about each of your family members, whether they will be accompanying you to Canada or not. You must include your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable, and all of your dependent children, and those of your spouse or common-law partner, who are not already permanent residents or citizens of Canada"


However, according to this guide, it says

" Note: Remember that all questions in this section are about your dependant. You must include your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable, and all of your dependent children, and those of your spouse or common-law partner, who are not already permanent residents or Canadian citizens. "


And here are my questions:

1. Does 'each of your family members' in the form mean the parents, brothers, and sisters of the principal applicant (my wife)? or Only children (which we don't have any).

2. Does 'include your spouse' in the form mean the sponsor (me) ?

1) Only spouse and/or children, (and/or dependent children of a dependent child, if I remember correctly). And only if they are not already permanent residents or Canadian citizens.

2) By definition, the sponsor must already be a PR or Canadian citizen, therefore is not included in list from 1).

2. The sponsor is not included as a dependent.

Don't go looking for other guides/instructions. Follow the spousal sponsorship guide.
