Gift Deed from Middle East (Saudi Arabia) - POF

Hi experts,

My husband transferred the required amount to be shown as POF in my account in December, since we read somewhere the Principle applicant should show the required cash under his/her name. Now, I am confused if that requires a gift deed or not, since he will be accompanying me to Canada.

The ACTUAL problem is we do not know how to get the affidavit & gift deed made in Saudi Arabia (as we are currently working here). All legal docs here are in Arabic & its VERY hard to explain what we require, since we are not arabic speakers. Also, then we have to get it translated to English along with all the extra paperwork, which I do not think I would be able to do in the allotted post ITA time period.

My husband suggests he can get it made from our native country (Pakistan) since all legal documents, affidavits etc can be easily obtained in English.

So two questions:

- Do I need a Gift Deed since husband will be accompanying me?
- Can I get the Gift Deed made from Pakistan instead of Saudi Arabia?

Although there is no need but to be extra cautious, just prepare an Affidavit mentioning clearly the Bank name A and Bank name B with respective account numbers, transaction reference number, amount, date and purpose (gift or family money) accompanied with a signed self-declaration from the donor/donee and get it attested/sworn in Pakistani Embassy in Saudi.

While submitting your application, you can attach this Affidavit, along with your bank letter, 6 months statement and transaction proof. Also explain the same in LOE that it is family money or gift transferred by your husband to you. This will be enough.

Sorry, i have got no clue of the process of pakistan embassy but you can call them to check. They can advise you exact documents requirement for attestation.

One more thing. Make sure to add the below statement in Affidavit.

"This gift is irrevocable and I have no claim left
whatsoever on the said gifted amount and she is free to utilise it in any manner"

Hey, did you do the gift deed in Saudi Arabia after all? I am sort of a similar situation and am trying to figure out how to do so in KSA!

We got it made from Pakistan. There was no other way we could find.
