Even worse! Neither of these two were born in Canada. The came as immigrants and left to make their careers in the US, bastards!
Good heavens!
What about @screech339 sparkling tax dollars?!

Just as a side note : should we consider Elon Musk as an immigrant ? He was born to a canadian mother. and while probably not a canuck by birth, he got his citizenship through his mother when he was around 18 and came here as a canadian citizen.Even worse! Neither of these two were born in Canada. They came as immigrants and left to make their careers in the US, bastards! I can't even imagine how much strain it puts on the taxes screech339 has paid over the years...
OK, you are right. But it doesn't change the spirit of the example when we get back to the moral high ground to look at it: he has Canadian passport and enjoyed lowered university tuition from Queen's University among other benefits as a citizen while he was here, then moved to the US ...Just as a side note : should we consider Elon Musk as an immigrant ? So long as they won't take advantage of the social system back in Canada, I'm fine with it. They are not Canadian of Convenience if they don't plan on coming back to Canada in times of trouble or medical care. They have made enough money on their own that they don't need to come back to Canada.Even worse! Neither of these two were born in Canada. And you just happen to be a prophet that knows those people that you are enjoying judging and labeling as “Canadian of convenience “ , will come back to take advantage of the system? You do know it hasn’t happened yet right? Those people you are pointing your finger to, they are still waiting to get citizenship and haven’t even left the country yet , but somehow you already know and are getting angry at them? You must be living a sci-fi life....So long as they won't take advantage of the social system back in Canada, I'm fine with it. Canadian of Convenience will use Canada as a doormat / backup plan for any personal decisions that didn't go their way, including using Canada as a stepping stone (use citizenship for purpose of getting jobs outside Canada, their native citizen wouldn't get). In other words, will use Canada medical system when they can't afford medical cost outside Canada or want Canada to bail them out in times of trouble.
Yeah, just like "birth tourism" in Canada hasn't happened yet either.A

How's that the same thing and how is that relevant to this? why don't you also add terrorism, racism, hate crime, sexual misconduct, and gun control to your examples just to be more pointless?Yeah, just like "birth tourism" in Canada hasn't happened yet either.
It's relevant in that liberals thought they both don't exist because the Conservatives brought it up as an issue. How's that the same thing and how is that relevant to this? why don't you also add terrorism, racism, hate crime, sexual misconduct, and gun control to your examples just to be more pointless?
Now I see what you are talking about ... OK, let me clarify it for you: we are NOT discussing whether it exists or not, nobody on this forum is denying the existence - the discussion is about whether people who move to other places after citizenship need to give a damn about you giving them a pass or not. It's relevant in that liberals thought they both don't exist because the Conservatives brought it up as an issue.
It wasn't meant as an argument anyway! I agree with you.OK, you are right. But it doesn't change the spirit of the example when we get back to the moral high ground to look at it: he has Canadian passport and enjoyed lowered university tuition from Queen's University among other benefits as a citizen while he was here, then moved to the US ...
Exactly... unfortunately some people suffer from serious inferiority complex and just want to hold on to the slave mentality, no free healthcare can cure that...It wasn't meant as an argument anyway! I agree with you.
Anyone who genuinely becomes canadian, be it from birth or at age 78, is free to benefit from all the mobility rights the charter guarantees, regarless of what CPC voters may think. End of story.
