Can anyone please help me with below query?

I got ECA for my latest degree/ last degree obtained, which is my masters (MBA) and didn't apply for my BS degree.

Academic/ Professional History
Under-graduation (BS) : Dec 2010
First job : May 2011 - Aug 2015
Post-graduation (MBA) : Sep 2013 - Jan 2016
Second job : 2016 - till date

I have 2 queries:

1. Should I get ECA for my undergrad (BS) degree as well?
A friend told me that your MBA ECA would give you the maximum points but if one wants to show professional work experience after BS, they must get an ECA for the degree which made them eligible for that job.

2. Will I have to pay IQAS again?
As per IQAS website, they will charge same whether one applies for single or multiple degrees. I got my MBA ECA in Sep 2017 and will be applying for BS ECA next month.

Thanks in advance.

I have a similar report like this.So can you pls confirm that whether I will get points in the category of two or more certificates, diploma or degree
Hi,
---------------------------
was curious to know what did you end up selecting on while submitting your express entry profile?. I am in the same boat as you.
Did you get your PR with this option selected ? Please help cause I am in a similar situation.
Thanks
So if one was degree four years already accredited by wes doing an one year pg diploma recognised. ..helps?? To claim two or more certificate option.
Hello Brother. Did you get the points for 2 degrees/diploma ? Because my lawyer said that diploma of 2 years will not earn you any extra points unless it is done after bachelors and must have bachelors as prerequisite.
All who are confused about "two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees..." points, the following information may help you to understand-

Many people's understanding of "two or more degree" points is not clear enough. People often get confused by the list provided under 1st section and ignore the other three sections below. People think only a minimum 3 years long bachelor's or diploma Plus a post graduate study can be counted but in real we can count any post secondary diploma or certificates (minimum 1 year) and a minimum 3 years degree or diploma to get points for "two or more...".

IRCC have changed the IT systems, now we cannot select "two or more degrees" anymore rather we have to insert all our degree or diplomas separately and the system will count the points automatically. If you do ECA on your educational credentials and get assessed as following any one of them then you will get points for "two or more.."

Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees.
Important notice: One must be for a program of three or more years.

ECA assessment results:
A three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree

PLUS any of the results in the sections below (not including secondary/high school), or:
  • Post-Bachelor's Certificate
  • Post-undergraduate certificate
  • Post-Bachelor's Diploma

  • one-year Postgraduate Certificate in [name of discipline]
  • Dual Bachelor’s degree (four years)
Or
Two-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
ECA assessment results:
  • College Diploma

  • Two-year diploma
  • Two-year diploma in [name of discipline]
  • Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years)
  • Associate Degree

  • Post-secondary Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
  • Two-year post-secondary Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]

  • University Diploma
  • One-year certificate in [name of discipline]
  • Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
  • One-year Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
  • One-year certificate

You will not get points for "two or more" if your ECA on diploma or certificates come as follows-

Secondary school (high school diploma)
ECA assessment results:
  • Secondary School Graduation
  • Secondary School Diploma
  • High School Equivalency Certificate
  • Certificate of High School Achievement
  • Certificate of High School Achievement [plus/including] [specialized/vocational/technical] training in X
  • High School Diploma
  • High School Diploma [plus/including] [specialized/vocational/technical] training in X
  • Grade 12 (high school completion)

An applicant will get points for "two or more..." if he/she has a minimum 3 years bachelors degree Plus any diploma-certificates under

1st section [which is post graduate] OR

2nd section [which is three years long degree, certificates or diplomas], OR

3rd section [which is two years long degree, certificates or diplomas] OR

4th section [which is one year long degree, certificates or diplomas].

Applicants will not be awarded points for "two or more.." if their diploma-certificate was evaluated as any one of them listed below-

Secondary school (high school diploma)

Best way to know the outcome is to insert your credentials in EE profile according to the ECA report. You will see yourself the points awarded.

Hope it helps, Good Luck!

Thanks a lot for this veru valuable information.

They probably calculate points based on the evaluation summary on the ECA report.

My summary states Diploma(2years) and Bachelor's degree (4years). Hopefully it will be eligible for the 'two or more...' option. Thanks once again.

Hi ishq74,

Points are not the issue here. The issue is that I have ECA for my MBA and have calculated points accordingly, would my profile will be rejected by immigration officer because I do not have ECA for my undergraduate degree (BS)?

For education you only get points for your highest credentials. So if your MBA assessed as Masters equivalent then you will get masters CRS points doesn't matter if you didn't evaluate your bachelors degree. You can add your MBA only in your EE profile and get appropriate points. Later after ITA you will be prompt to submit MBA documents. At that point you will have an option for personal history where you will enter all your education leaving no gap in the history and you will not be required to submit any documents for that.

Your work experience can be different from your formal education, and you don't have to prove your education for your work experience unless it is a licensed profession (medical doctors, architects etc.). If you have started to work after your bachelors then it is absolutely fine, you do not need equivalent certificate to prove your work. You got that job according to your company policy, it is nothing to do with ECA. All you need an Experience/Reference letter from your employer according to IRCC guidelines. If your work is genuine then no need to worry at all.

Hope it helps, Good Luck!

Hey Guys

For the ECA case, if i have a bachelor degree 4 years, and i am choosing to do ECA for Express Entry FSWP, do i need to assess my Higher Secondary school (12th Standard) certificate also?
Or the bachelor degree assessment is enough for this type of immigration?

I am little confused. I haven't yet done ECA but just want to know.

I completed
DIPLOMA IN TELECOMMUNICATION AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING (2 years and 6 months) but it took me extra semester that means it took me 3 years to complete this.

Then
I completed
BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING IN ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING (3 years) but because of my earlier qualification (the diploma above) I joined from second year so only did two years and was awarded with Bachelor degree.

Do you think I will meet "Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees"?

Hello,

It depends on how WES evaluates your education

for e.g. if WES gives you a CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY as below.

diploma (two years) and bachelor's degree (three years)

and they asses your diploma as:

Canadian Equivalency: Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years)

and you BE as:
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (Three years)

Then you will qualify under the "Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees" rule.

make sure while you create your EE profile, add both diploma and BE in there. The system will automatically calculate the points for you.

Hope this helps and best luck.

Thanks,

Thank u. I created my WES account and also sent the documents both diploma and degree. Documents were delivered to them but they have not yet updated. Waiting for evaluation, once done, I'll update here.
