Wait time for AOR

Hi there, we recently submitted our spousal application (last week). My boyfriend is from the UK. How long should it be until we receive our AOR?

It's currently taking about 7 weeks for inland and 8 weeks for outland

Yes, but the 4 month wait time for the OWP starts when they receive your application, not when you receive AOR.

You should be ok as processing time for owp is 3-4 months, but no guarantee.

You should have sent your package via tracked shipping (I hope)? You can see on the tracking when it was delivered. Otherwise, when you receive your AOR they will write the date the application was received in the email.

We received our AOR today and have successfully linked the PR application however we noticed the SOWP was not included. We have tried to link it but no luck - anyone have the same issue?

I have a similar question... we sent the application and acc to our tracking it was delivered last wednesday. So it will take a few weeks it seems to get the AOR ... but my husband who is with me right now his tourist visa is up on June 6... as long as they get the application and if we get our AOR by june does he have assumed status or do we need to apply for an extension?! Any insight would be appreciated. I tried calling them all 5 days last week and it would just hang up cuz they were so busy.

From what I know, we need to file for an extension of stay, he can't overstay beyond the 6 months period. Either get the work Permit and stay or file for an extension. If you are filing for an extension please keep me posted. I need to apply for an extension too but after a month. You need to file for extension 30 days prior to your 6 months.
