Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

I have one question, please guide. Right now my score is 410. I am working as an University professor. In case I add my wife score in my express entry profile the score will reduce to 402. Therefore, I am thinking to apply alone. So that there will be some chances that my profile get select under Human capital stream, Ontario.

My question is in case my profile select and I land Canada, after how many months I can call or sponsor my wife and kids in Canada. Can I sponsor them after two years or six months. Please guide.

Hi Abhishek.. unfortunately i'm unable to express my point of view caz all these days we have been only focused on spouse sponsorships. i'm sorry that i couldn't be of any help for your question but all the very best

Does anyone know how long review of eligibility takes ? We’ve done medical and passed. Gave in all documents requested but eligibility hasn’t been confirmed yet ? Is that odd or is that the normal process ?

@hopefulcanuck1 its almost 20 months for you .. did you try ordering GCMS notes or talking to the local MP office or mailing the SLVO ?

We didn't order GCMS notes, but we applied through a lawyer and spoke to the local MP. Since it is currently still within normal processing time they haven't done anything yet. But end of this month will be 20 months so after that we are planning to contact the VO and check.

Its surprising that I applied in March 2017 and I got the passport request 2nd January 2018 and still I haven't got the “We are pleased to inform that you have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor” message OR update such as in GC web. I think this process is strangely varies among people to people. I stopped believing the GC web updates

But its a good sign you received it this early. Usually it takes 8-12 months. May be its faster now?
