I'm FSW-O AOR June 1st. BG: NA (not sure if NA1 or NA2).

So I ordered my first GCMS notes a bit over a month after AOR, and my Primary office was shown as CIC Nova Scotia, and my secondary office as Ottawa.

When I ordered my second set of GCMS notes (around 3 months from AOR) my primary office became London (even though I do not live in the UK, and have only been there once for tourism), and my secondary office is now listed as CIC. Is it normal for VO offices to change this much every month?

I don't think London VO is related to the UK being where you live or not

There is a London near Toronto. That’s where the office is.

Good point. How can I know if it’s UK or Canada? Because on GCMS it just says “London”.
You can know because no country will have its government offices in another country.

This reminds me of the infamous navigation accident where a Canadian bloke driving to London in Ontario was directed to London in England !

I used to think Sydney VO meant the one in Australia. I blame CIC for choosing offices with names of international cities

It’s the same case with most erstwhile British colonies or Commonwealth nations- Ireland has a Londonderry to confuse with the original London, Canada has a London in Ontario etc;)

Hahaha- appreciate their ingenuity. This would make most applicants email the ‘real’ Sydney and London offices whilst the Canadian ones would be laughing their lungs out.

Well most of the countries have their offices in another country and they are known as Embassies and Consulates. Some of the applications are processed outside Canada in these embassies also known as Local Visa Office (LVOs). These Visa Offices are assigned based on the country of your residence and the Canadian Embassy, under whose jurisdiction your country comes, may process your application.

That’s not accurate. A lot of the applications are sent out to visa offices across the world for processing.

UAE, which is why I got confused. There’s a visa office here in Abu Dhabi. So you think it’s London, Canada and not London, England?

There’s a difference between a local consulate and a governments processing office. Anyway it’s not such a big deal.. Confusions happen. Hope everything’s clear now.
