Questions about ECA, NOC and EE

Hi all, I'm new and I have 3 questions with which I hope you guys can help me out. I'm sorry if I've missed anything from the available resource on this page.

1. Practically, do we need a hard copy of the ECA report delivered to us? As I understand, if CIC cannot validate the ECA report ref number we provided, we will need to provide an electronic copy to confirm, and such electric copy is included in the standard package offered by WES and hence would suffice. Is that correct?

2. In fact, does NOC skill level A or B matter to the chance of getting PR? Does an applicant who has skill level A would get a higher chance?

3. If we fail to get an invitation to apply for PR upon our first try, would we be automatically considered for the next batch? Same question for the application for PR, would we be required to submit a new application for future consideration in case of failure?

Thank you very much!

Hi miming1310,
Welcome to the forum. In response to your questions:

1. You don't TECHNICALLY need to wait on the hard copy; the electronic copy can suffice. However, occasionally, the date of issue on the soft copy of the ECA doesn't match the date on the hard copy, so, while you can submit the soft copy information for your Express Entry profile, it's a good idea to get the hard copy and use the information on that, if it is different, for your eAPR (electronic application for permanent residency) if you get an ITA.

2. NOC Skill level 0, A, or B doesn't matter for purposes of Express Entry. Your NOC may, however, have an impact in your getting a provincial nomination if you're trying to go that route.

3. If you don't get an ITA during the first draw after submitting your Expres Entry profile, your profile will stay valid for 1 year and you will be automatically considered for each draw that occurs during that year. Once the year is up, your Express Entry profile will expire, but you can create a new one if you want to continue being considered during draws (you'll have to make sure to get new IELTS/CELPIP results or an ECA if they expire at this point though). Once you get an ITA and submit your eAPR, if your application is refused/cancelled, you can submit a new Express Entry profile, wait for a new ITA, and then apply again (assuming your original eAPR wasn't refused due to misrepresentation, which bars you from entering Canada for 5 years).
