You will have to apply for new work permit ..pls call CIC and check if you can go to border with CSQ , new offer letter and accompanied fees receipt (paid by your employer) and they can issue new work permit at border ..

But I'm not a visa exempted person (my Visitor visa yet not issued), so I doubt that I can go to broader, I'm afraid they will not allow me to enter To Canada again .......What you think ??

Yeah better wait for trv (temp resident visa ) in such case , but you can call CIC and check if you can go to border with documents mentioned earlier for new work permit and visa (once you get your trv).

As you know, we have a similar timeline. My recent GCMS clearly showed that my Criminality was passed on May 1st. Since then, IRCC is working on my security check.
It is a bit weird to me that your criminality is still in progress. Hope everything goes well with your application.
I am now under visitor status, and hopefully get the postdoc job offer in a month.
Just a quick question:
Can I go to US border to receive my work permit, instead of waiting almost 72 days through online process?

Visitor extension takes 115 days, and now in May 15, and my application was Aug 23
but work permits take 84 days,
so it is faster for me to apply for new work permit, or I will get both in same time

Visitor extension takes 115 days, and now in May 15, and my application was Aug 23
but work permits take 84 days,
so it is faster for me to apply for new work permit, or I will get both in same time

Hi all,
Did any of you come across this situation before?
I'm CSQ holder, so I'm LMIA exempted.
My restricted work permit was expired on August and I applied for visitor visa to stay legally in Canada.
I got an offer from another employer and wondering if I can apply for new work permit with this new employer OR my OLD work permit should be valid when I submitting my new work permit........ do anyone have experience with this situation?

I have almost a similar situation. I have sent my PR application on June 29, 2016 and have not received decision made yet.
My postdoc was finished end of Dec. 2016. I have been under visitor status since Jan. 2017. My visitor status was expired end of Aug. 2017. However, I applied for a new visitor visa in July 2017 and unfortunately have not received the new status yet and am now under implied status.
Hopefully, I will receive my new postdoc offer next week. I believe I have to apply for a new work permit. Please let me know what CIC tell you on the phone regarding your situation.
Another confusing thing is that:
When applying for work permit on CIC website, you will be asked about your current status and when your current status will be expired. I do not know I have to consider the expiration date of previous visitor visa or the new date I wrote down in new visitor forms.
