You do not want to be in same league as NDVO guys. NDVO is taking 15+ months for "all" applications these days and Ottawa is still hovering around 11-12 months for "most" applications.
Haha ok! 11 months would give me a belated Christmas gift early Jan, but I'm not gonna dream of that. I'm counting on the worst. Especially since they'll have to ask MIDI for an extension of my CSQ (I applied late)
Why do you need extension of CSQ? CSQ has to be valid only until AOR date.
CIC will ask you to get new CSQ with extended validity if they want one. You will then send request letter from CIC to MIDI in that case.
Have you been in this situation? This is from CIC website:
"Valid Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ)
The CSQ must be valid at the time the Confirmation of Permanent Residence is issued. If the CSQ expires during the processing of the APR, IRCC must contact the MIDI office that issued the initial CSQ to request a renewal of the CSQ. To ensure that MIDI has the most up-to-date information, IRCC must also include the following information with the renewal request: applicant’s mailing address, email address, telephone number, and if applicable, Zany change in the applicant’s marital status or addition of a dependent child and/or spouse (including their full names and dates of birth). The CSQ is normally renewed for one year only, but it can be renewed multiple times if necessary. IRCC must not contact MIDI to renew a CSQ before its expiry."
Mine expires at the end of October...
I wish I could renew it myself. I've applied for a new work permit with with a new employer and with the current delay (84 days!!!!!
) they won't treat my request before it expires. And it needs to be valid. I think I'll have to flagpole for my work permit instead. (They do give work permits beyond CSQ expiry, my current one is valid until April 2019, but I lost the job that goes with it...)

Hopefully we get some news before the end of October because that is what it's looking like right now11-12 months from application received or from AOR ??
iam at 10 months waiting since application received , and background check didnt start yet
