3 months from the date on the COPR. If you bring your AIP letter, they might be able to back date some of that. For all those who are landing and going for OHIP, does the OHIP start rightaway or it is a 3 months waiting period before the coverage begins after the COPR?
CSE will take too long -- 30-60 days. MP has a direct line that they can bypass the call centre. They don't have any troubles reaching CIC, and if anyone can have it changed, it's the MP.Or I can submit my request via IRCC WebForm. What can my local MP do about that?
My call has been transferred. I am on hold now. If that doesn`t work I will email my local MP then. Thank you @profilerCSE will take too long -- 30-60 days. Good luck!My call has been transferred. I am on hold now. If that doesn`t work I will email my local MP then. Thank you @profiler
For some reason, not everybody gets it, or they get it with a lot of delay. A DM letter will be worded like that:Decision letter? Not sure I got that
They will set the start date to the date on AIP (or should be able to). You still have to wait 3 months, but it will be 3 months from a sooner date (potentially)thanks profiler, so even if we get AIP (hopefully soon) and go for OHIP its 3 months waiting from AIP?
Just need to know so I can renew the health insurance accordingly for my wife
IRCC agent told me that it would not be possible.. Should I still try to contact MP and see if he can influence that somehow? Or should I just prepare for 800km + trip?Good luck!
You'd best hurry, before they start processing it at the Vancouver end...IRCC agent told me that it would not be possible.. Should I still try to contact MP and see if he can influence that somehow? Or should I just prepare for 800km + trip?
E-mailing MP`s office now. I am at work now so.. I can`t really callYou'd best hurry, before they start processing it at the Vancouver end...
Congratulations for the AIP! You can now register your husband to OHIP or RAMQ if you are in Ontario or Quebec; I'm not absolutely sure for other provinces, but I would expect the same.My lawyer just forwarded me the email CIC sent to them last night. My husband has finally received his AIP letter!!! I am really happy just about the fact that CIC is working through our case after they paused for a month!
Profiler, your guess was right! You said I'll hear something either the 7th or this month sometime, and you were right. Just waiting for my husband's decision made letter or interview letter and i hope it's soon
Thank you so much! What will I need to bring with me for OHIP? and is it better to do it now or wait for the COPR?Congratulations for the AIP! You can now register your husband to OHIP or RAMQ if you are in Ontario or Quebec; I'm not absolutely sure for other provinces, but I would expect the same.
