Dear Expert Members!

I wish to seek your opinion regarding an important querry.

Does one need to maintain the exact minimum amount in bank after receiving ITA?

I have received ITA and had shown 15350 CAD for 2 people.

But this amount kept on fluctuating due to various reasons including payment of EMIs, bills and fees. But it was restored again when I got my salary.

My query is that is this okay? Or one has to strictly maintain the 15312/- CAD balance.

When landing does the Immigration Officer checks for this when we submit him the 6 months balance statement?

Please guide.

Thank you in advance.

Cheers!

Not a rule but recommended.

Yes IRCC is very strict on the minimum POF based on your family composition. More is okay, less invites rejection.

When landing does the Immigration Officer checks for this when we submit him the 6 months balance statement?
Generally no, but you would have to declare any amount above CAD 10,000 during first PR landing.

Please guide.

Thank you in advance.

Hi just wondering, what did they ask about POF when you landed? Did you have to maintain this for 6 months or they just looked at the balance on the day on landing?
The thing to keep in mind is that when you land here, you should be able to show that you have the minimum funds defined under the PoF requirement. Most of us carry updated bank statements to show an officer upon our first landing. The officers usually don't ask for it, but if they did, you'll have to show the updated PoF document. You only become a PR after satisfying an officer at the border that you meet the conditions for PR (including the PoF - if they ask for it).

You should want to have more than POF to be able to settle in Canada. For example it can be very difficult to secure a rental without a Canadian credit history, a job, etc. so many offer to pay many months of rent upfront.
