Hey all, one question with respect to POF. We have submitted the account statements of both my spouse and my bank accounts, although my account has more than funds needed. I am the primary applicant. Our application now states NA. After we submitted our application, we had to withdraw funds from my spouse's account and currently that account doesn't have much. My account is still intact with whatever funds i had, actually a little more than that.

So my question is, will they check my spouse's account balance now? Or will they go with whatever proof we have submitted?

Any suggestions would be very helpful!

Thanks Again!

Don't Worry.
Only primary applicant's account balance matters. Just maintain the required amount in your account.

Ok.. thanks.. but do you know if they check the current balances when do the background check? Any idea?

Thanks again!
You are required to produce POF twice in the whole process, from AOR to Landing.

1) At the time of filing your e-APR. It's a must. IRCC determines your financial eligibility a/c to the proofs you have provided. This stage you have cleared already, so there's nothing you can do now for this, and also you don't need to worry about it, in fact, since you said that you had more than enough balance in your (PA's) bank account.

2) At the time of landing:
Officer at the airport MIGHT ask you to show them the POF at the port of entry when you land. Again, it's not necessary that they will ask you for the same. It's totally on the discretion of the concerned officer to ask you for this. I have heard/read about many cases on this forum who were never asked for showing POF at the time of landing.

Now, coming to your individual case, you don't need to worry about this. You should just maintain sufficient balance in your account (PA's account) till the time of landing. If it holds minimum balance required, then your spouse's bank account doesn't need to have balance at all. You are quite fine to go ahead. Just make sure you have the latest POF issued by your bank when you land (preferably not more than one month from the date of landing).

All the best for smooth procedures and happy landing.

How long does it take for BG change from IP1 to NA? And what happens during this process between IP1 and NA
Your R10 is completely finalised. As per current trends its taking just 2-3 days for applicants to get NA after IP1. But to be safe, its 5-10 days on average.
