How much time does it take to get the first AOR ?
And, my spouse haven't did the medical upfront, so should we do the medical before the medical request to save the time since it is taking long to get the medical request now ?

You cannot do the medical request upfront. You have to wait until CIC sends you the request documentation to bring to the panel approved physician.

AOR is taking anywhere from 2-6 weeks. hope that helps.

My Spouse is in India I have mailed the application to Mississauga office.

Not sure who you saw getting medical done upfront. I know one person was able to get it done because the request did come through their mycic but they never got the appropriate documentation. I am sure there are always some people who do it differently but you are not supposed to - the fastest way to get your application processed is to follow the guidelines

You will get a special request and document you have to bring for the doctor, so just wait until you get that.

CIC changed their medical policy last december 2016.so now,one should really wait for their medical request before having it done.

I sent in my application through express courier on June 1st and the package was received on June 2nd itself.

I did not subscribe to the text messaging confirmation. Still waiting for a response from CIC.

They are aiming to get 80% of cases done within 12 months, some will move faster than this.

anyway i can find out if they are working on my file if i haven't received the first email from CIC (AOR i think it's what everyone calls it here) ????? it's been 17 business days since they have received my application (i have a text message that confirms that).

No - they won't be able to give you information other than maybe that they have it, unfortunately. Gotta wait til it's in the system. Once you have AOR hopefully things move along quickly.

Anywhere from 2-6 weeks once they receive it. None of the June 2017 applicants have got their AOR1 yet.
