To the point.
I just had to.. did not mean to offend anybody but i feel that many here have truly started believing that C6 will never become law, when the reality is actually far from it.. unnecessary negativity never helps.. so I just had to post that..

So is the discussion supposed to happen tomorrow in HoC..is that on track..I think I read some statement from a politico on this thread?...Fingers crossed..

You know what - you're right. Maybe C6 will NEVER EVER EVER EVER see the light of day!!!![/QUOTE
And do you have a direct line to the speaker or any senator.. Or are you just speculating. In 99% of cases senate accepts the messages sent by HOC as it represents the will of the people. So no matter what happens to the amendments in the HOC the history of previous bills are pointing towards senate accepting the HOC's decision. Also why would c6 take 1 year to come into effect.c24 took 1 year because it was giving those who already qualified under 3/5 and had not applied due to various reasons a chance to apply. With c6 no such scenario exists.. I know this is a discussion thread but the level of paranoia and negativity for no good reason at all sometimes gets to me.. Calm down and let the MPs and senators do their jobs.. Since April c6 has moved at an excellent pace.. Wait 1 more month and then you can moan all you want if the bill does not become law..

The Projected Order of Business for Wednesday will not be published before 12:35 am (Eastern Daylight Savings Time) which is when the Tuesday session of the HoC ends. So this is the earliest anyone on here could know if it will be debated tomorrow.

Nothing about it whatsoever!
Very deceived...

They didn't say Wednesday, they said that it'll be this week. So no need to freak out :)
They start with C-24 first..... ironically the bill number is the same as the previous citizenship Act, on which C-6 is intended to make changes.

They will spend another 3 hours on C-45 tomorrow (that's when the time allocation motion for C-45 kicks in). Plus, they start at 2pm tomorrow. So they will barely have time for a second government bill anyways. So it's not really surprising that they put some minor bill on the agenda instead of the "big ones" like C-6.

Of course I wouldn't mind if they started C-6 tomorrow, but it's not that concerning that they didn't put in on for tomorrow.

Then senate will not accept the decision, it will back and forth forever?sigh

Not really. I think they will. The government will not send the bill to the senate unless it's sure that the senate will approve it. How the government is sure? Well politics.

But don't u think they will not need much time for the first reading of the amendments? So, it's not about big or small bill. I think 15 minutes is enough for the first reading. But the question is will there be a first reading or just straight to the point? You know better.

No there is no separate readings when the HoC considers amendments by the Senate. they get straight to the point. For all other bills that recently were sent back to the HoC, the HoC spent two half-sitting days on the consideration of amendments and then sent it back to the Senate.

Everything in this country is progressing in a very slow pace, and C-6 is not an exception. Look at HoC, they put C-6 in the fridge for 5 weeks and the senates will not act differently.
and I thought I am the only one who feels this, now imagine how things will be after the implementation of Bill C45

I heard back from the secretary of an MP yesterday (Tuesday, June 6) that C6 is very likely to be discussed in the HOC on Thursday. However, they cannot comment on if it will become law or when it may receive Royal Assent. This reply seems reasonable to me...
