I don't think that your parents require birth certificate and I also didn't find any reference in the document checklist. You only need your parents birth certificate if you are sponsoring your grand parents.
I have another question, I'm sponsoring my parents and they do not have marriage certificate. Can an affidavit from notary/lawyer work in this case?
I would also like to know what all documents are to be submitted for the parents sponsorship application? I have made a list below.
- Sponsor's PR Card/Citizenship Certificate
- Sponsor's Birth Cerificate
- Dad's Passport Copy of each page
- Mom's Passport Copy of each page
- Parents Marriage Certificate
- Dad's Photo
- Mom's Photo
Exactly, required only when sponsoring application for grandparents.
Well, my parents also didn't had the marriage certificate so i asked them to get one now and its under process. Don't want to take chances on this.
For documents it should be like:
- Sponsor's PR Card/Citizenship Certificate
- If cosigner applicable then PR Card of him/her
- If cosigner then your marriage certificate as well
- Sponsor's Birth Certificate as proof of principal applicant relationship to sponsor (for this Im also attaching copy pf sponsor's passport showing parents name on last page)
- Dad's Passport Copy of each page
- Mom's Passport Copy of each page
- Parents Marriage Certificate
- Dad's Photo or Mom's photo (photo required only from principal applicant for now, they will request photo for dependant accompanying person later in the process)
I am also thinking to get all copies attested/notarized, it doesn't say anywhere it should be, but just trying to eliminate any false impression.
Hope this helps, good luck.!!
