Is Schedule A Request Mandatory after You Filed Your e-APR?

Hello there,

I have seen some people on here saying that they get Schedule A request after they sent their e-APR. I took a look at the Schedule A form, it seems like identical with the questions you answer on your EE profile after you received ITA. So why would IRCC ask us to send that again? (unless they are not happy with the way the information was filled out on their EE profile? Or this is a standard procedure that everybody will get Schedule A request after you hand in your e-APR?

It's not mandatory for everyone, but it's usually requested when you answer "yes" in the statutory questions, if you left a gap in your personal history, or if there is a time period in your personal history that IRCC would like more specific information on.

But I answered "yes" in the statutory questions and explained them in a letter of explanation and did not get a Schedule A request. I got my GCMS notes and the agents were acknowledging that I explained the positive statutory answers in the letter of explanation, and there were no further instructions by them to make the Schedule A request to me. So just volunteer any information upfront if you think they may question it later on.

The Schedule A form is a holdover from the paper-based application days. Some VOs or agents just refer to it if they need further information on your personal history.

I was not able to send you a private message so was hoping you would answer here (or you can send me a private message). You mentioned that you explained your yes answer in the statutory questions. Did you explain the why you got a refusal before or just the specifics of the type of refusal you had in the past ?
