I had my oath on 14th Jan 2022 and I just got the Canadian passport last week. I need to apply for the surrender certificate and I was wondering whether there is a time limit to apply for the surrender certificate.

Decision made on my spouse's file. Mine still says in progress. I was supposed to have an interview on 31st May which was cancelled and postponed. Call centre agent said that he didn't see any interview lined up for me except for the first one. So advised that I just wait. Nothing else can be done.

Completed it last night and got 20/20. Now both of us are done. I found this disturbing though - "We’ll contact you with the next steps in the process in the upcoming months."

After you take your oath, IRCC will send you the citizenship certificate. When you apply for your passport, you need to send the original citizenship certificate to them and they will send it back to you. Hence you see it twice.
