Hi all,

Quick questions for some experienced seniors. I have applied for sposusal sponsorship for my wife on Feb 28, 2024, have received AOR and Biometric request, Biometrics are done and updated. Haven't heard back anything after that, I understand it is still early to make a comment.
I was just reviewing the application docs and have found following minor errors
- Form 008 mentions place of birth as Risalpur which is a city whereas birth certificate and passport mentions place of birth as Nowshera which is the district
- spousal sponsorship main form the box to choose application outside Qubec or in Qubec is unchecked
- Sponsorship email address missing on main sposusal form
Questions:
Would these errors cause any delays ?
Should we submit webform address thise errors before hand ?
Should we withdraw application correct the errors and re submit ?
Wait for IRCC to bring those up and submit a response then ?
Thanks

you can raise a webform to correct it if you want but don't ever withdraw :)

How crucial is to hire a consultant/lawyer for a spousal sponsorship? I want to submit the spousal sponsorship myself but I keep hearing that is better to use the help of a professional. Outland sponsorship is applicable for my story because my husband lives in a different Canadian province on a close-work permit.

Most people can do it themselves with no assistance. Legal help should only be needed in complex situations (very much non standard). You haven't indicated anything here that sounds complicated.

And many consultants are not good at all.

Hello, did anyone recently apply for inland spousal sponsorship? I would like to know how many weeks it is taking to get AOR after submission. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

I am in the process of submitting spousal PR application for my wife under family class. I am a Canadian citizen moved out of the country last year. Now we want to move back to Canada once she gets her PR.

For the intent to return to Canada part, I am planning to provide the following proofs :

- Letter from myself stating our detailed plan such as where we’ll live, what we’ll do, why we want to move back to Canada.
- Support Letter from my friend mentioning he is aware of our return and we can temporarily stay at his place rent free until we find our own accommodation
- We sent a parcel ( via courier) to Canada from our home country last week weighing 15kgs. I will attached the proof of delivery along with the picture of the package.
- Job search screenshots. Also I got an interview for a job, so screenshot of the message as well from the recruiter.
- My and wife’s valid driving license
- My and wife’s bank statements in Canada
- Our active Canadian debit/credit cards
- Our last 3 years Notice of assessments
- My valid health insurance card
- I will transfer all my savings of about $30k cad to my Canadian bank account, so the proof of that as well.

Can someone please confirm the above proof can be enough as intent to return??

Also, I am unemployed currently at my home country so for the proof of funds I will show my savings of about $30k cad will that be enough to proof sufficient funds to support my wife as a sponsor.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

No-one can tell you for sure, but sounds like you have the main things. I don't understand why your wife's driving license is relevant. (Nor yours, actually - and I wouldn't necessarily bring that up as in some cases you're not supposed to retain a drivers' license abroad - not that IRCC's actually in the business of policing that, although some may comment). Also note: your health card may no longer be valid and if not, including it not very relevant - validity here not from the date on the card but provincial health rules about how long you can be out of country.

Do I understand that your spouse lived in Canada before?

Thank you for your reply.
I understand the driving licenses might not add much significance, but the reason to provide was to show some ties with Canada.
Good point on the health card, I will exclude it.

And yes my spouse has lived in Canada for 5 years and after her status expired to both decided to come to our home country to get married and then apply for her PR as outland.

I really hope these proof suffice as the intent to return. Fingers crossed.

Sorry but can you please also shed some light on the last part of the question regarding showing funds as my savings as I am unemployed at the moment.

Not really. Probably enough if both of you are likely to work / have history of working.
Yes we do. Also in my letter, I will explain why we are not working currently as we are just visiting our parents and our game plan regarding finding jobs as soon as we land in Canada.
And our NOA’s can show our history of working in Canada.

Then I dont' see a big issue with this.

Really, your package seems like more than enough. When you apply, do have a section - start with - your spouse's five years in Canada and that your time abroad together (I'm not clear how long) was a break and time to celebrate your marriage with family etc. I think that context will tell IRCC most of the story. After that the officers examining will mostly just glance at the rest to confirm it; they're not going to spend much time on your intent to return to Canada

I don't need to know but obviously whether you and your spouse lived together in Canada during this period is relevant too.

Please tell me though that you did NOT live together when you first became a PR.

Thank you very much for the explanation. I will start my letter explaining my spouse has lived 5 years in Canada and I have lived for 7 years, then we met, we dated, and decided to come back to home country to get married with my families involved and then apply for the PR.
It will be about 1-1.5 years break out of the country.

And to answer your question, I met my spouse after I become Citizen, we dated for about 2 years and then decided to get married.

And we lived together for about 6 months in Canada before leaving the country. So i will also mention that.

Also, i forgot to mention one important thing, she has her Visitor visa valid until 2028, so
i will also mention that we might come to Canada closer to our finalizing/end stage of our application to settle down in Canada ahead. Hope this plan also support the intent to return.
