YASSSSSS! Congratulations! Time to get your passport guarantor and references!

I had heard Family applications took more time than single ones but dangggggg.

I think you'll have to update the change in your status on your drivers license, medical insurance, and employer. Anywhere else?
I don't think there is any status change for driving license, medical insurance and employer.
Most of it your PR status already handles.

Only thing needed would be to register to vote.

For my employer, my old id would be invalid and they want me to keep it up to date. I thought similar would be needed for drivers and provincial insurance but it not then yay!

One needs a guarantor and two references to get Canadian passport. There r alternatives to this process. More here - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports/new-adult-passport/required-documents-photos.html

The process is being worked on to be changed soon though: https://www.cicnews.com/2023/08/irccs-citizenship-to-passport-pilot-streamlines-passport-process-for-new-canadians-0836761.html
I like the new process.

Wow, great to see LPP completed and oath scheduled for some already!

As for our file, still not even a test invite… seems like there hasn’t been any movement on the application over the past 2 weeks.

I think we need to update our status with Service Canada right?
Service Canada is a govt-wide service front-end that 'links' to other govt departments and agencies. You can certainly go to Service Canada and ask what needs to be updated.

My short list of stuff is CRA, the SIN people (not that it changes anything), and elections canada.

Note that for most people who tick 'let elections canada know' on their citizenship app - not necessary; CRA - you can just tick the box when you next file taxes; and SIN - well, like I said, I don't think it changes anything and not necessary (the numbers are permanent for permanent residents and don't change), but won't hurt.

That's why I was saying Service Canada. Letting them update our file would update other federal government agencies including SIN and CRA. I'll give them a call and ask them if its beneficial to update citizenship status once we get it.

My driver's license and health card were valid during oath, and SIN remains unchanged. Service Ontario advised me to visit when my driver's license and health card expire. At that time, I used my Canadian passport as ID.

So far, I have not needed to visit Service Canada.
I will call Service Ontario as well and ask them if we need to update our citizenship status. Doing this should uodate things at the provincial level. Let's see what they say.
