Out of curiosity, can you retake the citizenship test even you pass the first time? I am a bit worried that my laptop camera quality isn’t good enough for the ID pic taken. I may try using cellphone or iPad if it allows me doing a second try.

They will email you to send the ID pic if it's not good enough. Don't retake just for ID sake.

But it will delay the whole process like an extra step?
I just wonder if it’s allowed to retake.

I'd advise to wait.

Let's get a little technical. No matter how old your laptop is, or if you are using an external webcam. It has to be 0.8 megapixels, its very likely that its more. That is a very large picture. I know you are basing your worry out of the preview shown on test when you took the image. The image is quite larger than the preview. The VO can zoom in.

Don't believe me? Take a picture and try zooming in.

Regardless, it could be someone who does not know how to zoom in and could just request you for your ID. Very unlikely imo.

But if you take the test again, you'll be an outlier because most people don't retake it. This puts you in the unknown. Things have taken time for me being in the unknown.

All the best!

Patience is key when you dealing with IRCC. If you get a lazy processing officer, would wait for the test window to complete before processing your test results. There is a limit to how much you can optimize speed of processing from you side. Don't over do and complicate it.

Actually my test window is only 2 weeks away from now so I don’t think it will be an issue. Just don’t want any extra delays but we never know, thanks again for the kind advise!

Just curious, can we choose in person oath? How long that will take for scheduling?
Yes you can ask for in-person when you get scheduled for virtual. They will have the instructions in the email.
However, I don't recommend it because in-person ceremonies not held often so it may take a long time to get rescheduled.

YASSSSSS! Congratulations! Time to get your passport guarantor and references!

I had heard Family applications took more time than single ones but dangggggg.

I think you'll have to update the change in your status on your drivers license, medical insurance, and employer. Anywhere else?
