2 months is a very long time.
If you extended your "visitor status", the extension only applies inside Canada.

Do you have a valid TRV to return?
Yeah I extended my TRV (expires in 2030) and my work permit expires in 2026.
Even tho I go with my spouse, 2 months is still a problem? I asked my consultant and he said it should be ok. I'm so nervous. Tysm

Did you apply as "inland" (I assume so since you posted in this discussion)?
Inland applicants are supposed to live inside Canada with their spouses/partners.

There is always a risk when you leave and try to re-enter.

If you have a valid multi-entry TRV or eTA, you can re-enter Canada. The work permit is not an entry document, but you do have to keep it with you to present to the officer, and it probably decreases your chance of getting denied entry.

You can travel but it is not recommended for inland applicants. There is no guarantee they will let you back into Canada—it's unlikely you'd be denied, but it's a real possibility. If you must travel, it is recommended to keep time outside of Canada short.
Thank you for your response. My TRV visa stamping Category says V-1 (Visitor), wouldn't it be a problem if I use my work permit but the Visa stamping shows as "Visitor"? When officers asks about the status, I need to mention that I am on a Work permit right but the TRV shows as "Visitor". Any thoughts on this?
